Downlights and fan replacement in Furnace Green this morning. The old 12v halogens had started falling and the bezels were badly corroded. I replaced them with Fireguard GU10 fittings with IP65 bezels from JCC Lighting. The old lights were wired from a central transformer so out came the from dc 🇬🇧. I also changed the rumbling, under powered fan for a new MF100T from Manrose, with a new fan / light grille

in Maidenbower completed today. The old, obsolete board was overdue an update but space was a potential issue due to the location, fortunately a Hager UK board went in with a bit of space left. A few fairly minor faults identified and resolved during pre-testing, meaning the property is now fully protected (well, electrically!)

When a simple job turns into something more… I was only meant to be installing a couple of floodlights at a gaming club hut. First things first, carrying out a loop test at the existing light override switch indicated an earthing issue, so checked a socket which was the same. Testing at the consumer unit confirmed the issue. Given the TT supply there should have been a rod, but it couldn’t be located. It appears the hut may have only been earthed via the water supply, but this looks to have been changed to plastic, leaving this potentially unsafe situation

2nd fix completed this week on another Powersheds log cabin. Sockets / switches are my go to; Click Mode from Scolmore International. Downlights are the new model Skydiscs from JCC Lighting. The outside lighting is switched from both the cabin and inside the house using and receiver from TLC

Another customer ready for delivery of their new EV, another Solo 3S from Pod installed this morning. Fortunately the consumer unit was charged recently so only a new circuit required for this install which saved me time and the customer money!
