🥶 COLD LOFT ROOM TRANSFORMED | COVENTRY & WARWICKSHIRE

Adding Big thermal gains without sacrificing space.. saving our customers money on heating bills 💰

This 1970s loft room was cold, damp and practically unusable during the winter months.

Poor insulation meant the internal surfaces were getting extremely cold, contributing to condensation, damp and an uncomfortable bedroom that was difficult to keep warm.

We were brought in to improve the thermal performance without taking lots of valuable space away from the room.

✅ Installed 12mm XPS insulation wall panels
✅ Approximately 45% thermal uplift
✅ Warmer internal wall temperatures
✅ Helps reduce the risk of surface condensation
✅ Minimal loss of room space
✅ Finished with a fresh, smooth plastered finish

The result? 👇

🔥 A warmer, cosier loft room that's ready to be enjoyed throughout the winter🏆

At SD Roberts Plastering & Wall Insulation Warwickshire, we specialise in improving cold, difficult-to-heat rooms using thin internal wall insulation systems designed for properties where losing lots of internal space isn't an option.

Whether you're dealing with a cold loft bedroom in Warwickshire, a damp cold loft room in Coventry or Warwickshire, or you're looking for loft insulation wall panels in Coventry & Warwickshire, we can assess the problem and recommend a practical solution.

⚠️ COLD SOLID WALLS + STANDARD PLASTERBOARD = TROUBLE

This is what can happen when the wrong materials are used on cold solid-wall bay windows in old houses

In this job, standard gypsum plasterboard had been fixed directly against the cold masonry and unbelievably, it had been held on with a few blobs of bathroom silicone!

❌ Wrong board
❌ Wrong adhesive
❌ No proper strategy for managing moisture or condensation!

Over time, warm moisture-laden air from inside the home can find its way into/behind the board and reach the cold masonry. Once moisture becomes trapped in that void, you can end up with mould growth, musty damp smells, staining and ruined decoration often hidden away until the damage becomes obvious.

We've stripped this one right back so it can be rebuilt using a system appropriate for the wall and moisture conditions.

If you've got a cold bay window, recurring mould, damp smells or decoration that keeps failing, don't just keep covering it up!

🏠 FROM TIRED 1980s BRICK… TO A COMPLETELY TRANSFORMED HOME.

This is exactly why I love doing what I do.

We recently completed this transformation using specialist SprayCork, alongside insulation work and the removal of a redundant garage door.

But the best part?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“We cannot recommend SD Roberts Plastering & Wall Insulation highly enough.”
The customer described the finished house as:

“Modern, fresh and incredibly smart.”

That's what we're aiming for on every job not simply covering over tired brickwork, but improving the appearance, comfort and performance of the property at the same time.

If the outside of your home is looking tired, dated or suffering from problem areas, you might be surprised at what's possible.

🔥 Is your integral garage properly fire protected?

Most homeowners never give this a second thought... until it's too late.

Contact us today:

https://form.123formbuilder.com/2387712/contact-lead-form

On this project in Stratford-upon-Avon, we're upgrading the wall between an integral garage and the living space using Fireline plasterboard.

Why is this important?

✅ Provides up to 30 minutes of fire resistance, helping slow the spread of fire and giving occupants valuable extra time to escape.

✅ Helps meet the fire protection requirements typically expected where a garage adjoins a home.

But here's something many people overlook...

Installing the correct fire-rated board is only part of the job. Every gap around cables, pipework and board joints must also be sealed using the correct fire-rated products. On this project we've used B1 fire-rated expanding foam before finishing the joints, ensuring the entire system works as intended.

If you're converting all or part of your garage into a home office, gym, utility room or living space, don't just think about insulation—think about fire safety and soundproofing too.

At SD Roberts Plastering & Wall Insulation, we specialise in creating garages that are:
✔️ Warmer
✔️ Quieter
✔️ Safer

📍 Covering Warwickshire, Stratford-upon-Avon, Coventry, Leamington Spa, Warwick, Kenilworth, Rugby and surrounding areas.
