⚡ EICRs – The Compliance Check That’s Too Often Forgotten ⚡

Electrical installations don’t last forever. Over time, wear, damage, and unnoticed faults can put people and property at risk. That’s where an EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) makes all the difference.

📊 A few facts:

➡️ Around 20% of electrical fires in the UK are linked to faulty installations or wiring.
➡️ The recommended interval for an EICR is every 5 years for commercial premises and every 10 years for domestic (or with every change of occupancy).
➡️ A “satisfactory” EICR can be your best defence in proving due diligence under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.

💡 Recent Case Study:
During a recent EICR at a commercial property, our team identified several overloaded circuits and deteriorated cabling hidden behind ceiling tiles — issues that could easily have caused overheating or fire. Following our remedial works, the system is now fully compliant and certified.
As NICEIC-approved contractors, ITC provides detailed EICRs across commercial, residential, and public sector sites — giving clients peace of mind that their installations are safe, efficient, and compliant.
