"Is my Ash tree dying?" That's the question we get most right now.

Look up at the crown in summer. Thinning leaves. Bare twig tips. Dark diamond-shaped lesions where side shoots meet the trunk. Photo below gives the best explanation of what to look for in the leaves.

Ash dieback comes on slow. Then the wood goes brittle fast, and that's when it turns into a problem near a drive or a boundary fence.

We've seen plenty of it around Coventry this year. Older roadside Ash mostly.

If yours looks off, Stokes Tree Care will come out and take a proper look. Free, no obligation and let you know what to do next.

OAK TREE REMOVAL

Unfortunately this veteran Oak in Kenilworth had to come down. No real obvious reason why it had declined so badly, but after having a resistor graph reading taken, it was shown to have quite extensive decay of the main stem on all sides. Tree was published a 5 day emergency notice to be removed asap due to it being dangerous.

With the help of Russ-lin’ trees and Joe Newton we craned this bad boy out of a tight space around the current building work, ready for the stump to be removed at a later date, and a new tree re planted in its place.

A dangerous Sycamore removed for Jackalberry Nursery yesterday. Even though it looks healthy and green, it had a bad included fork which was ready to split meaning half the tree falling into the Nursery garden, and the other onto the house behind.

Lots of logs left for the staff to utilise for children play and seats etc.

Cherry recently removed in Coundon.

All the wood chip was used to back fill the area where the Cherry was, that was covered in weeds and brambles.

Customer felt a little better about removing the tree once they coukd use the chip and a few logs to improve the look of that area. 🪵
