From gas to glow in Histon.

We were recently called to a property in Histon where the existing gas fire had reached the end of its life and could no longer be repaired. We safely removed the old appliance and replaced it with an Eko Fires 1070 Reflections electric fire.

Our customer wanted a fire for the look and the atmosphere rather than as a heat source, and the Reflections fits that perfectly: a realistic flame effect, a clean modern finish and no gas supply to maintain.

We worked alongside Connor Bedford & Co, who installed the new electrical supply and provided full certification, so the job was finished properly from start to end.

Another air conditioning installation completed, this time in a flat in Milton.

We fitted our most popular multi-split combination: a 5.3kW outdoor unit powering two indoor units — 3.5kW in the lounge and 2.6kW in the master bedroom — giving efficient, individually controlled cooling and heating throughout the flat.

Certificated electrics carried out by Connor Bedford, so the whole installation was completed safely and to a high standard.

This setup is a great fit for flats and smaller homes wanting whole-property comfort without the hassle of multiple separate systems.

We recently installed a 3.5kW single split air conditioning unit for a lovely older gentleman in March, giving him cool, comfortable air through the hot summer months and affordable, efficient heating for the lounge come winter.

All certificated electrics were carried out by Connor Bedford & Co, so the whole installation was completed safely and to a high standard from start to finish.

Another great job completed in Girton today.

We removed the old boiler cylinder and header tank and installed a brand new Worcester 30kW combi boiler, backed by Worcester's market-leading 10 year guarantee for complete peace of mind.

We also replaced the shower with a new thermostatic shower, built to perform under the increased pressure from the new combi system.

Big thanks to TCW Roofing for their help fitting the vertical flue terminal — great teamwork made this a smooth, tidy installation from start to finish.

If your old cylinder or tank is taking up space, or your boiler and shower are ready for an upgrade, get in touch — we'd be happy to help.

Milton multi-split + single-split install

A busy one this week in Milton — a full air conditioning install covering both sides of the property.

We fitted an 8.2kW multi-split system with 3 indoor units to the living room and two bedrooms, plus a separate single-split unit to the master bedroom on the other side of the house — giving comfortable, controllable cooling in summer and heating in winter throughout.

Great to get another Milton home set up for the warmer months. Qualified electrical services for the job were carried out in partnership with Connor Bedford & Co — always great to work with a trusted local electrician.

South Cambridge dog groomers AC install

Another happy customer down in South Cambridge — we've just fitted a 3.5kW single-split air conditioning unit for a local dog groomers, keeping things comfortable for staff, clients and their four-legged customers all year round — cooling in summer and heating in winter, all from the same system.

Here's what they had to say:

"Just had air conditioning fitted by Monster. I would highly recommend this company. They were efficient, friendly and professional. Shout out to Connor, who is completing his apprenticeship with Monster and is an absolute credit to the company. Great job guys, thank you!"

Cambridge AC install (aquarium heat)

An unusual one for the team this week — an air conditioning install in Cambridge to tackle heat from a rather large aquarium.

The tank was pushing the temperature up throughout the house, so we fitted a 5.63kW outdoor unit powering two indoor units — 2.6kW to the kitchen diner and 3.5kW to the master bedroom — to keep things comfortable for the household (and presumably the fish too).

The customer told us they've noticed cooling right across the whole three-bedroom semi from just the two units, as well as how cheap it is to run and how quickly it cools the property.

Certificated electrics for the job were carried out in partnership with Connor Bedford & Co — great to work alongside a trusted local electrician to get this one done properly.

https://www.facebook.com/EylesElectricalServices/Cottenham multi-split AC + consumer unit upgrade

Another great job completed for a customer in Cottenham — a full multi-split air conditioning system, giving comfortable, controllable temperatures exactly where they're needed most.

The install: 3 indoor units to the living room and two bedrooms, powered by a single 8.2kW outdoor unit — quiet, efficient cooling for summer and heating for winter, all from one system.

While we were on site, working with Eyles Electrical we also upgraded the property's electrics, replacing the old consumer unit with a new RCBO consumer unit. This gives individual RCD protection on every circuit, plus surge protection — a real safety upgrade for the whole home, not just the new AC system.

Nursery kitchen cooling job

When the recent heatwave hit, the kitchen team at a local nursery were really feeling it — cooking lunch for staff and children in soaring temperatures is no small task.

We installed a 3.5kW single-split Bosch air conditioning unit to bring the kitchen back down to a comfortable working temperature. The result: a much happier kitchen team, and a delighted client.

We're pleased to say the nursery has now asked us back to fit further units in the children's rooms too — giving cooling comfort through the summer and reliable heating through the winter, all from the same system.

It's great to see a job like this make such a real difference to a hardworking team. If your workplace is struggling with the heat (or the cold), get in touch — we're here to help.
