Possibly my favourite project so far!

This chessboard was made as a Christmas present and it didn’t disappoint to say the least. Not only is it functional, but as an ornament, it draws the eye from across the room.

The materials I used were ash, walnut, maple and birch plywood.

This was a one off item which I had designed myself. If you have something similar in mind, get in touch and we can discuss details.

Pair of bedside lamps for a happy customer.

Designed and created by me using steam bending and traditional joinery techniques.

Both lamps feature a slim piece of walnut which perfectly contrasts the ash and birch plywood bases.

Both of these are bespoke items and are truly one of a kind.

A few steam bent lamps, built over the last couple of weeks.

The materials for each lamp are carefully selected, as factors like the grain direction can impact them. The wood in these pictures consists of white oak, iroko, ash, birch plywood and walnut. All of these hardwoods add to the beauty of the end product.

What is steam bending?
It is a time-honored technique where wood is softened with steam, then carefully bent into shape using custom molds. Once cooled and dried, it holds its elegant curve naturally,no cuts or glue needed.⁠

I use the highest quality fittings to ensure top notch craftsmanship.
I have lamps for sale and can make them to specifications.
Every one is completely unique and they are crafted in Cornwall using traditional joinery methods. DM me to get your own.
