A sneak peak at one of my recent tumbled stone jobs, built with as little to no pitcher work as possible in order to preserve the stones rustic weathered appearance, giving it the charm similar to that of a little stone cottage in a fairtale book 👸 🧚‍♀️ 🧙‍♀️

The mix is monaghan grey sandstone, white limestone and donegal sandstone, supplied and tumbled by Coole Stone 👏

They say you need the patience of a saint for a career in stonemasonry… this job certainly tested that theory. 30mm donegal sandstone ‘cladding’ was used on this one and with a (politely putting it) terrible supply of cladding to work with containing mostly triangles and very uneven cuts it took maximum effort to successfully create my desired natural flow and full stone appearance.

🍷 VINTAGE vs MODERN ✨

Both of these samples are the exact same stone mix (Monaghan grey, Portlaoise and Donegal sandstone)

Except in the top pic the stone is tumbled with a raked back joint to create an older cottage field stone look

And the bottom is built as is, with a neat v-pointed finish to tighten the joints that creates a more modern aesthetic
