Bit of a system simplification on this one, the old alpha had died a death and the solar thermal hadn’t worked for years so was decomissioned and removed. A new Vaillant ecoFIT pure fitted in their place. Customer was so happy for the extra cupboard space they couldn’t wait to fill it before I got my final snap 📸😂

Lovely new Worcester 2000 installed this week , one of Worcester’s mid range level boiler offering an impressive 7 years parts and labour warranty whilst being very competitively priced.

Originally called to this job as the customer had been experiencing consistent pressure loss, a short investigation revealed the main heat exchanger had been compromised and so the system water was being lost via the condensate disguising the issue. Due to the age of the appliance we agreed it was beyond economical repair and opted to replace the boiler.

Fitted the 30KW model to keep up with the hot water flow rates and then range rated the heating output down to 55% to better suit the heat demands of the property. Doing this improves the efficiency and contributes towards the longevity of the appliance whilst most importantly saves them precious pennies 🤑🤑

System Conversion to finish off the week 💪🏼

👨‍🔧 Removed the old ideal heat only boiler & Unvented cylinder linking up and capping off pipework below base level to maximise cupboard space

🪵 Ply lined cupboard base to cover old pipework holes

💦 Ran new hot & cold pipework to tie in under kitchen sink

🔥 Upgraded gas pipe to 22mm to feed new boiler

🔧 Installed Worcester Greenstar 32 CDi Compact & Worcester’s comfort 2 controll pack to maximise efficiency through load compensation

🤓 Range rated maximum heat output down to 18Kw to suit heat demands of property and further improve efficiency

… and some real life plumbing to finish the job, when filling the system discovered a small leak. Suspected my soldering at first but found a nail in a pipe that had been holding under pressure for the last 20+ years!!

This customer was fed up with the constant lack of hot water available for their growing family.

In such a tight space we opted to combine 2 150L Gledhill unvented cylinders to maximise volume and flow rates. Even with all the prep it was still a tense moment getting them through that hatch 😬

Old cylinder removed, loft space boarded out and hot water system sealed, now there’s no chance of running out of hot water 😅
