We know you were wondering what we were up to today on the A*5 at Llanddulas...

A grey coloured Toyota Yaris was sighted by our officers this afternoon and when requested to follow them off the A*5 at Llanddulas. The vehicle initially complied with the request before it re-joined the A*5, stopped and allowed their passenger to exit the vehicle before the vehicle was again stopped where he then ran along the carriageway to avoid our officers.

The vehicle was identified as being involved in suspected gift card fraud whereby the occupants of the vehicle had stolen gift cards from retail premises in the local area.

Upon searching the vehicle, a large amount of gift cards were located in two foil lined carrier bags within the vehicle.

Both the driver and the passenger, who was later located by our colleagues from Arfordir Gorllewin Conwy / NWP West Conwy Coastal were both arrested and are currently in police custody. It is suspected that these gift cards are to the value of thousands of pounds if they were to be used.

We thank the members of public who were disrupted whilst we caused this vehicle to stop safely 🚔 👍

Check your MOT...🚗 ⚠️

We're seeing a significant increase in vehicles being driven on the roads of North Wales without a valid MOT.

An MOT isn't just a piece of paper - it's a vital check to make sure your vehicle meets the required safety standards and to identify potentially dangerous defects.

Please don't take the risk. Check your vehicle's MOT status before you drive - you can do this via https://orlo.uk/YSGwV

Driving without a valid MOT can result in a £100 fine.

And remember, if your vehicle is stopped and other offences or defects are identified, these can result in separate fines or penalties.

It only takes a moment to check your MOT status. Keeping your vehicle road legal helps protect you, your passengers and everyone else using the roads.

⬇️

Gwirio eich MOT...🚙 ⚠️

‘Da ni’n gweld cynnydd sylweddol yn y nifer o gerbydau sy’n cael eu gyrru ar ffyrdd Gogledd Cymru heb dystysgrif MOT ddilys.

Nid darn o bapur yn unig ydy tystysgrif MOT – mae’n archwiliad hanfodol sy’n sicrhau bod eich cerbyd chi’n bodloni’r safonau diogelwch gofynnol ac yn helpu nodi diffygion peryglus.

Peidiwch â chymryd y risg. Gwiriwch statws MOT eich cerbyd cyn gyrru – gallwch chi wneud hynny drwy Enter the registration number of the vehicle – Check if a vehicle is taxed and has an MOT - https://orlo.uk/9qcce

Gall gyrru heb MOT dilys arwain at ddirwy o £100.

A chofiwch, os bydd eich cerbyd yn cael ei stopio a bod troseddau neu ddiffygion eraill yn cael eu canfod, gallai’r rhain arwain at ddirwyon neu gosbau ychwanegol.

Dim ond munud mae’n ei gymryd i wirio statws MOT eich cerbyd. Mae gwneud yn siŵr bod eich cerbyd yn gyfreithlon ar y ffordd yn helpu i’ch diogelu chi, eich teithwyr a phawb arall sy’n defnyddio’r ffyrdd.
