🏆 EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH — AUGUST EDITION 🌳

At Blake Tree Care, every month we ask the team to vote for those who deserve a little extra recognition.

Who’s been working hard? Who’s been a great team player? Who’s gone above and beyond?

Across both Willow Forestry and Domestic Tree Surgery, it’s a great way to reward hard work and gives me a valuable insight into who’s stepping up and supporting their teammates.

One rising star worth mentioning is young Louie. 🌟

Since joining us at the beginning of last year, Louie’s really stepped up his game, picking up several votes throughout the year, completing his ground-based chainsaw training and with his climbing tickets booked for later this year.

And it brings me on to something we hear all too often…

“Kids these days!” 🙄

There’s plenty of negativity surrounding the younger generation and their attitude towards work.

But looking at the youngsters we’ve got coming through Blake Tree Care — , .davey.746 who’s spent a few days with us, and young Ed, who’s just joined — I think there’s plenty to be positive about.

I genuinely believe that with the right training, the right mindset and, most importantly, surrounding young people with A-players who want to see them succeed, there’s no telling how far they can go.

Nobody starts out knowing everything. It’s about giving people the opportunity to learn, develop and grow.

Invest in your people, and they’ll invest in the future of your business. 🌳💪

Not a bad office for the day!

High up in a larch tree, surrounded by the beautiful Italian mountains, with a Milwaukee top-handle in hand.

The scenery doesn’t get much better than this!

It was great to get the opportunity to test out the Milwaukee battery top-handle while on the helicopter tree-work course.

I’m already a big fan of battery chainsaws, and it’s always interesting to get my hands on something different and see how the technology is progressing.

Beautiful surroundings, great equipment and an incredible experience. 🌲🏔️

PETROL vs ELECTRIC… WHICH ONE ARE YOU TAKING HOME? 👀⚡⛽

A good demonstration on the STIHL stand at the APF Show.

The new MS 300 petrol up against the MSA 360 electric, running the STIHL Pro batteries.

According to the STIHL rep, there’s pretty much nothing between them…

But watching this, I reckon the electric takes it. 👀⚡

I’ve been a fan of battery saws for a while now, and they just keep getting better. Instant power, less noise, no fumes and no pull starting — and now we’re getting to the point where the cutting performance is seriously competing with petrol.

But I know this will divide the tree world… 😂
