Meet the team 👋

Andy is the founder of Extended Space and has been in the building industry for over 25 years, starting out as a trainee carpenter before progressing through all aspects of construction.

Coming from a carpentry background provided Andy with strong all-round building knowledge, working alongside most trades throughout every stage of a project and gaining valuable hands-on experience from the ground up.

Today Andy oversees projects from first enquiry through to completion, including quotations, project management, client communication, marketing and working closely with architects, structural engineers, site teams and building control to ensure projects run smoothly and are delivered to a high standard.

Outside of work, Andy is a husband to Liz and dad to three boys, including Charlie. His interests include football, golf and hiking, along with enjoying good food, family time and the occasional drink.

Passionate about quality workmanship, good communication and creating spaces clients genuinely love living in.

MEET THE TEAM 👋

Meet Liz Partner – the rock behind the scenes at Extended Space Ltd.

Liz keeps the business running day to day, taking care of all the admin, accounts, bookkeeping and company secretary duties that keep everything organised and on track.

While the lads are out on site building projects, Liz is the one making sure the paperwork, invoices, schedules and endless behind-the-scenes jobs are all under control.

Mum to 3 boys, with Charlie being the eldest, and somehow still managing to keep boss Andy in check too 😂

A huge part of the business and genuinely the rock behind everything we do. We honestly couldn’t do it without her.

Kieran Prout – Carpenter

Kieran joined us towards the end of his apprenticeship and has gone on to become a NVQ Level 3 qualified carpenter. Over the last few years, he has developed massively within the business and become a valued member of the team.

Working closely alongside Charlie on site, Kieran covers all aspects of carpentry as well as plasterboarding, insulation and steelwork installations across our projects. He’s a smart lad with a great attitude towards work and is always willing to get stuck in wherever needed.

Since joining us, Kieran has come on leaps and bounds both in confidence and ability, building strong all-round knowledge and experience on site.

Away from work, Kieran is a proud family man with two children and is also a keen golfer whenever he gets the chance to get out on the course.

A top lad and someone who’s developed massively since joining us as an apprentice. We’re proud of how far he’s come and look forward to seeing him continue to progress within the business.

Meet the Team – Extended Space Limited

Charlie Partner – Carpenter / Site Lead

Charlie has been part of the business since leaving school and is now NVQ Level 3 qualified, with strong all-round carpentry knowledge and experience across our projects.

He plays a key role on site, keeping everything running smoothly day to day and making sure work is delivered to a high standard. Charlie is also a main point of contact for clients on site, always approachable and happy to help.

Charlie showed a strong desire to get into the trade from an early age, starting straight from school. As the business has grown, he’s stepped into a lead carpentry role and built a solid understanding across other trades on site.

Away from site, Charlie enjoys his music, social events and the odd football match.

A huge part of the team now and someone we’ll rely on more and more as the business grows.

Roof complete on this bungalow-to-chalet renovation in Colchester.

All finished using reclaimed tiles from the existing roof — saving the client tens of thousands of pounds while keeping the character of the property intact.

Dormers fully clad ✔️
Solar panels installed ✔️
Ready to strike the scaffold and move into the next phase of works.

From Problem Conservatory to Proper Extension 👌

This one had it all…
• Failing floor
• Leaks through the wall
• Poor original foundations

The only real solution? Start again.

We removed the old conservatory and foundations completely and rebuilt the space properly — solid base, fully insulated structure, and a seamless extension finished with a new lantern roof.

The transformation speaks for itself.
More space. More light. No more problems.

Progress shot from our bungalow-to-chalet renovation in Colchester 🔨🏠

The roof has been one of those structures that tests you - hips, valleys, awkward junctions… pretty much every cut imaginable and then you got to insulate it!✏️📐

The two young lads Charlie & Kieran have absolutely smashed it on this one 👏

Complex roofs are the making of Carpenters, really proud of the boys, they have kept it spot on and tidy right through the 1st first fix too👌

Horrible, dusty job… but somebody’s gotta do it 😅
PIR insulation now installed tight between the rafters – clean cuts, no gaps, no compromises.

We’ve left a 25mm upstand around the new floor areas to maintain insulation continuity and reduce cold bridging at junctions, helping with overall thermal performance and compliance.

Site left spotless as always – because good work doesn’t stop when the boards are fixed.

🚧 Steel In, Safe & Swift! 💪

Last week we lifted a 0.75-tonne steel into place at the rear of our latest extension project, made effortless thanks to the Prop Pal needle system and the Hooka mini tracked machine from Hook Up Solutions.

This setup took the strain and risk out of the lift, keeping our team safe and saving serious time on site. Smart kit, smooth teamwork, top results. 👷‍♂️🔩

Our thanks to Hook Up Solutions who were amazing throughout, we’ll definitely be back!💯
