🏗️ We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager! 👷‍♂️

We’re looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee multiple scaffolding projects from pre-start through to completion. 🏗️📋

The role will include:
🔹 Planning labour and resources
🔹 Managing programmes 📅
🔹 Attending site meetings 👥
🔹 Liaising with clients and site teams 🤝
🔹 Monitoring health & safety ⚠️
🔹 Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget 💷✅

The successful candidate must have:
✔️ Strong scaffolding industry knowledge
✔️ Good commercial awareness 💼
✔️ Excellent organisational & communication skills 📞
✔️ Experience managing multiple contracts

Existing relationships within the scaffolding and construction industry, together with the ability to support business development and generate new opportunities, would be advantageous. 🤝📈

🚗 A full UK driving licence is required.

💰 Salary and package are negotiable depending on experience.

Paul joined SHL Group Services in 2021 and brings an incredible 44 years of experience within the scaffolding industry.

As our Senior Estimator, Paul plays a key role in preparing accurate, competitive quotations and developing practical, cost-effective solutions for every project.

Working closely with clients, contractors and our wider commercial team, his experience and attention to detail help ensure we get it right from the outset – from initial enquiry through to project delivery.

Hartford End Bridge | Project No. 6 🏗️

Another project underway for SHL Group Services, working alongside Main Contractor Topbond PLC to provide a bespoke scaffolding solution at Hartford End Bridge, Colchester.

This marks our 6th bridge repair project across Essex and Suffolk, supporting essential works with safe and reliable access solutions.

Working around an existing bridge structure and watercourse requires careful planning, safe access and a scaffold solution designed around the challenges of the site.

MEET THE TEAM | STEVE BALDWIN – TRANSPORT MANAGER 🚛

Steve joined the construction industry in 2021 as a Scaffolding Inspector, developing a strong understanding of health and safety before progressing into the transport side of the business.

After supporting SHL with FORS accreditation, Steve went on to gain his Transport Manager CPC in Road Haulage and, in 2025, his Category C+E (Class 1) licence.

Now responsible for the SHL fleet, Steve combines his transport management knowledge with first-hand driving experience to understand the challenges our drivers face on the road.

“I’m passionate about road safety and want to ensure our fleet is one of the safest on the road.”

Rob has over 22 years of experience in construction, starting his career as a scaffold labourer in 2004 before progressing to Advanced Scaffolder and Site Supervisor.👷‍♂️

His passion for health & safety led him into H&S management and later operations, completing his NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety in 2025.🚧

Today, Rob brings together extensive hands-on site experience, safety expertise and operational knowledge to help ensure SHL projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. 🔧
