Here is the link to the Scottish government website. The deadline has been moved, now Feb 2022. However before the announcement moving the date lots of suppliers ran out of stock.

We have an online wizard that can guide you to the right set up specifically for your home:

I've had a few really useful discussion today over facebook about the new law.

1. The government is proposing moving the deadline to Feb 2022. If its moved till then should you get it done sooner or later? My advice was if you are going to replace out of date equipment (all smoke alarms have an expiry date), then replace them with ones that meet the new legislation. The new systems are safer, so why wouldn't you upgrade?

2. I was informed that my prices were too high because you could buy them off ebay for £50.
I've popped a picture of the ebay system. Sadly it isn't compliant. It would be great if it was at that price.
The price doesn't include a heat sensor or CO² alarm. And if it did, on this system they cannot be linked to the smoke circuit.
The batteries are not 10 year sealed.
So, sadly, the price is too good to be true.

This is an interesting wee article in the Herald.

From what they are saying home insurance would be invalid if the new systems were not in place.

SCOTS householders face a house insurance crisis with under four months to have linked fire and smoke alarm systems at a cost of at least £220.

Scottish legislation is changing when it comes to smoke alarms.
