Big day today! The sliding doors and roof light are being installed at our Bolton site. We have all been looking forward to this and were intrigued to see how these huge doors would be fitted. It was extremely impressive to watch and working together, seamlessly manoeuvring these triple-glazed panes, each weighing nearly 700 kg, and installing these magnificent aluminium sliding doors and roof light. This project is really starting to take shape.

Today we’re at UK Construction Week (UKCW) at the NEC Birmingham.

We’re looking forward to a day of inspiration, learning and discovering what’s new across the construction industry. Looking at various materials and alternative products, to new ways of improving site productivity and customer satisfaction.

It’s also a great opportunity to connect with others in the industry, share ideas and continue looking at how we can develop and grow as a business.

🏡 Another milestone reached at our Bury project!

Things are really taking shape on this stunning annex by PH Build Group, designed to complement a beautiful Grade II listed 18th-century stone house in Bury, Lancashire.

We’ve made great progress recently, including:

🪟 Timber windows and doors are now installed, adding a traditional touch that complements the character of the existing property.

🔨 Internal stud walls are underway, starting to bring the layout and rooms of the new annex to life.

🏠 Roofing is now 90% complete, and we’ve taken great care to keep the new building in keeping with its surroundings. We’re reusing the tiles from the original outbuilding wherever possible and have been sourcing additional reclaimed and locally sourced tiles to closely match them. This helps the new annex sit naturally alongside the historic property and retain the character of the local area.

It’s fantastic to see this project progressing into a space that’s really beginning to feel like a finished home. Combining modern construction with traditional materials and detailing sympathetic to an historic property is always a rewarding challenge.

This luxury home extension in Bolton is really starting to take shape, and it’s going to be something special! ✨

With the first-fix electrics, plumbing and plastering now complete, we’re making great progress both inside and outside. Preparation is well underway for the new patio area, including all-new drainage to ensure this space can be enjoyed all year round, whatever the weather.

The new sunken seating area will create a fantastic space, complementing this luxury home extension in Bolton and adding another dimension to the finished design.

There’s still plenty to do as we move towards the finishing stages, where the finer details will really bring this Bolton home extension to life.

Sometimes, there’s a lot more beneath your feet than you might realise! 👀

The last couple of weeks have been busy on our Bury project, carefully preparing and layering everything needed to create a solid, warm and well-protected foundation for this home.

Here’s what’s gone into the floor build-up so far:

🔹 Smooth, level floor screeding
🔹 Clipped-in screed underfloor heating system
🔹 Visqueen polyethylene sheeting
🔹 Unilin insulation boards
🔹 Damp proofing using Wykamol CM8 wall membrane
🔹 Hydra Dri applied to all walls and floors

It might not be the most glamorous stage of a renovation, but these are the details that really matter — getting the foundations and protection right before the next stage begins.

🏠 Next up: the internal walls. That’s when this home will really start to take shape!

About the Role

As our Site Foreman, you’ll be responsible for overseeing several building sites, coordinating trades, ensuring projects stay on schedule, and maintaining excellent workmanship from start to finish.

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong communication, problem-solving skills, and a solid understanding of all aspects of residential construction.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage multiple construction sites simultaneously.
* Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
* Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standard.
* Monitor quality control and compliance with building regulations.
* Plan daily and weekly site activities.
* Maintain site health and safety standards.
* Liaise with clients and the management team.
* Resolve on-site issues efficiently and professionally.
* Keep accurate records of site progress and materials.

What We’re Looking For

* Proven experience as a Site Foreman or similar supervisory role.
* Strong knowledge across multiple construction trades, including carpentry, brickwork, roofing, groundwork, finishing, and general building.
* Ability to manage several projects at once.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills.
* Strong organisational and time management abilities.
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
* Full UK driving licence.

A major upgrade to a coastal classic. This three-storey, four-bedroom detached home, originally built between 1930 and 1949, sits just moments from the beach and enjoys panoramic sea views.

It has been a privilege for PH Build Group to redevelop this remarkable property, carefully transforming it from the inside out while preserving some of its original charm and character.

The full renovation included stripping the property back to brick, constructing a new three-storey side extension, skilfully restoring the brickwork, installing a brand-new roof, and creating new perimeter walling and driveway.

Now that the roof is going on, our renovation and extension project in Bury, Lancashire is really starting to look like a home. By reusing the original stone and flagstones from the old outbuilding, the new annexe is blending beautifully with the main Grade II listed property — preserving its character while creating a practical new living space for the future.
