Finishing touches and quality control ! Mickey is dry fitting and trimming in this gable pediment in chauvigny limestone before we ship it out to .
who commisioned the work for one of there many projects .
They could have used a stone thats similar but 25% cheaper !? Why not ? because chauvigny is a quality stone, frost tested to 140 cycles and will last 3 times as long ! Quality above profits .
Which is unusual in this day and age!

75% of our workload now is supplying other contractors with natural stone products ,

Thank god for electric hoists ! Our cotswold stone is very hard and durable because its dense thus its heavy ! (2320 kgm3 ) .
It also has a low porosity of 14.4 %
which is handy for a chimney stack especially as the last one leaked like a seive !
We have gone belt and braces with this one with two weathering courses with 80 mm overhangs and a deep drip groove to shed water away ! A fancy lead tray under lower weathering course and a wrap around lead skirt she is dressed to impress !

Resident banker mason tricky mickey has been busy with some complex copings in hard chauvigny limestone, which is a good match for caan limestone but with the added benefit of being tested to 140 frost cycles , so excellent for jobs that you want to do once in a lifetime due expensive scaffold etc .

This is a replacement section for a fancy chimney crown in local bed 5 cotswold stone .
Its suitably hard and durable and has a lovely typical cotswold grain to it , which are layers of shell deposits in the sedimentary limestone .

Quarried worked and fitted all within 10 miles of cirencester ! Thankfully with todays diesal prices !

A quick round up of work completed over last month , all bread n butter jobs keeping the wolf from door !
After 9 years of large projects its small local builders/ landscapers keeping us afloat at the moment ! Supplying lots of sawn stone , building stone , copings , paving for projects in the shires .
So big Thank you to them , we appreciate the work 👏 👍and you supporting a family business🙏

A few little jobs done or in progress ! Well done team ! Lots of little projects coming in at the moment which is a bit different to last few years ,where we have mainly been working on big house restorations . Its hectic but quite nice wrapping jobs up quickly and having something different every week .

Chunky client designed surround to fit over an existing surround , mantle was 2.3 long and weighed about 250kg , fitted by top chaps and 👌 , looking forward to seeing it once chippy's have built the media unit around it .
