It’s what’s underneath that makes the difference.

This week’s job is a perfect example of what we mean when we say built properly from the ground up.

We’ve excavated the old driveway and re-regulated the existing sub-base, making sure we have a solid and correctly prepared foundation before the new surface goes anywhere near it.

We’ve installed new edging where required to create a strong, defined border and give the new driveway the support it needs.

And one of our favourite details on this one — a lovely crossover created using reclaimed granite setts.

Rather than simply putting something new in, we wanted this section to complement the character of the area and tie in naturally with the existing surroundings. The reclaimed granite does exactly that.

Because when you choose someone to work on your home, you’re not just buying tarmac, blocks or a new driveway.

You’re buying the confidence that the preparation has been done properly.

That the right materials have been used.

That the details have been thought about.

And that nobody has taken shortcuts on the bits you won’t necessarily see when the job is finished.

That’s what we want people to get when they choose Cortal Driveways & Ground Works — confidence in a job done properly.

A bit different from the usual driveway work…

This week we’ve been laying these 100x100 granite setts to create a new entrance detail.

Every sett individually bedded and laid by hand, working with natural stone that varies in size and shape — which is exactly what gives it its character.

Jobs like this take a little more time, but they’re the kind of work we really enjoy. Proper preparation, attention to detail and something that looks like it belongs there when it’s finished.

We’d definitely like to take on more work like this.

🐾 ARE YOU ACTUALLY FEEDING A COMPLETE RAW DIET?

It’s something we get asked about all the time in the shop — and it can be confusing when you’re new to raw feeding.

You’ll see things like:

🥩 Complete
🦴 80/10/10
🥩 Meat Only
🫀 Offal Free
🐓 Single Protein

But what do they actually mean — and which one should you be feeding?

That’s where we come in.

At Raw Dogs Dinner, we don’t just want to sell you a box of raw food. We want you to understand what you’re feeding, why you’re feeding it and feel confident that you’re choosing the right food for your dog.

If you’re new to raw, changing brands, have a fussy dog or simply aren’t sure whether what you’re currently feeding is right, come in and have a chat with us.

No pressure. No silly questions. Just straightforward raw feeding advice from people who live and breathe it every day.
