Our Enviroply Roofing team is growing! Please join us in welcoming our newest member, Thomas Yip, as our Estimating and Operations Trainee.

Thomas joins us with a strong construction background, having gained experience within estimating, quantity surveying and site management roles across the construction sector.

He also holds both BSc and MSc qualifications in the built environment, providing an excellent foundation for his development within the business.

We’re nearing completion over at Victoria Street in Denton with GK Construction and Protan. With some intricate detailing work carried out by the team on site, it really is a pleasure to see the results of care and quality work that has been produced here.

A massive pat on the back to all involved in this one to date. Standing seam profiles will be added next week to the Mansard elevations which will enhance further this fantastic development.

Another quality project successfully delivered at Oaklands Care Home in Leyland, completed in partnership with Investimmo Construction Ltd. This redevelopment transformed the former Oaklands Convent into a modern 66-bed care home, providing dedicated dementia care facilities while preserving the character of the original Edwardian building.

Working across 972m², we installed a mechanically fixed Alumasc Alkorplan single-ply roofing system in Lead Grey. The full warm roof build-up included an Alumasc Polyethylene AVCL, 200mm Alumasc FF PIR insulation, and the Alkorplan F reinforced PVC membrane, delivering excellent thermal efficiency, long-term weather protection, and reliable waterproofing.

All detailing was completed using Alumasc-approved components to ensure a durable, fully watertight finish, with the installation carried out in accordance with British Standards and Alumasc Registered Contractor requirements.

Completed to a high standard, the project achieved the requirements for an Alumasc 20-year system warranty, providing the client with confidence in a robust, energy-efficient roofing solution built to perform for decades to come.

A question which is asked by many - should I have a warm roof or a cold roof?

You can create a warm roof, or a cold roof, simply by applying the layers of the roof in a different order. Namely the insulation layers.

When installing a cold roof, the insulation is applied between the rafters. A 50mm gap is left between the top of the insulation, and the roof deck above. This allows air to circulate. However, this also allows cold air to enter.

When installing a warm roof, the insulation is applied on top of the existing roof surface. This process offers a greater level of thermal insulation, for your whole property. It’s also simple to install, as long as your existing roof deck is in good condition.
