LABOURER WANTED

We are looking for a labourer to join our team over the next 6-8 weeks to assist on a number of upcoming projects.

Job role will consist of:

• Mixing & loading up
• Keeping site clean & organised
• Maintaining mixing stations & scaffolding areas
• Assisting tradesmen on site as required

Applicants must:

• Hold a full driving licence
• Be prepared to commute to site or to Chorley for transport to jobs
• Have previous experience within the construction industry
• Be reliable, punctual & hard working

Wages are dependable on experience, work ethic & punctuality.

Hot temps this week has meant that we’re wetting down as often as possible.

If you’re working outside with lime try & keep away from the sun as best you can. Fortunately the majority of our work here has been shaded. Although we got caught out slightly today on the back which made things difficult.

Lots of water, flash drying is one of the worst possible things for lime.

CEMENT & GYPSUM ARE KILLING SOLID WALL HOMES.

Most old properties were never designed to be sealed up with modern impermeable materials. They were built to breathe.

When cement plasters, gypsum plasters, modern paints & modern dense materials are introduced into traditional solid wall buildings they trap moisture inside the structure. That trapped moisture then leads to condensation, black mould, blown plaster, cold walls, damaged masonry & unhealthy living environments.

We see it constantly.

Walls that can no longer manage moisture. Moisture with nowhere to escape.Homes becoming colder, damper & less healthy year after year.

Traditional lime plaster works completely differently.

Lime allows moisture to naturally evaporate back out of the building rather than trapping it inside. It helps regulate humidity levels within the home creating a far healthier living environment.

Lime is also naturally alkaline meaning it creates an environment mould struggles to survive in. Combined with proper breathability this can massively reduce condensation & mould issues within old properties.

Solid walls NEED natural materials.Not cement.Not gypsum.Not tanking systems.

Just because modern materials are common does not mean they are compatible with traditional buildings.

If your home suffers from trapped moisture, mould, blown plaster or cold damp walls then the materials on your walls may be the problem.

Lime mortar re-pointing. Part 1 of 2.

This stage is purely about the filling process itself. Ensuring joints are properly compacted, filled in layers where required & keeping everything consistent across the elevation.
