Job 1 - Hornets getting into bedrooms and outdoor seating area when solar lights came on.
Job 2 - Electrician needed to use the area to wire in some lights but wasps prevented them working.
Job 3 - Main door unuseable due to wasps attacking owner
Job 4 - Wasps getting into house via gaps in beams and preventing wisteria being trimmed
Job 5 - AirBNB guests unable to open windows or use outdoor seating area due to wasps and hornets invading their space
Job 6 - Wasps getting into bedroom plus loud rustling noise in ceiling keeping owners awake
Job 7 - Wasps making noise and getting into kitchen and bedrooms
Job 8 - Wasps attacking owner when trimming grass or plants.
Job 9 - Enjoy an icecream - well deseved.

We evict several pigeons from living under 14 solar panels as the owner had spent a fortune having the gutters cleaned every 3 months plus listening to the constant noise the birds were making all day and night, where it got to the stage it was making their lives miserable.
We offered a quick and simple solution which causes no damage to the solar panels by clipping on the 35mm by Defender Bird Spikes
We also emptied and cleaned the gutters plus removed guano from under the panels and scrubbed the roof tiles where possible once a biocide was applied before removal. This prevents bacteria and pathogens to become dangerous to myself or anyone in the near vicinity breathing in the dangerous particles.

Another happy customer, another solar panel array bird proofed and another safe day at work as we worked off scaffolding.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Feedback Friday ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We've been getting some brilliant reviews in recently so we thought being a Friday we would share one of them!

This post was when we removed a 2-3yr old colony under a shed floor in 35oC temperatures! We won't be forgetting that extraction for a while. The colony was saved and rehomed and we extracted over 100kg of honey from the colony. 4 buckets of honeycomb was taken away and cleaned then put into jars to consume, with the customer having several jars for themselves.

There is no bee colony we can't get out, no colony we can't save. We love what we do and no matter how hard the job is, how hot the day gets, how angry the bees get, we push through and ensure the bees are saved and rebuild is carried out to a high standard.

A honeybee colony removed and rehomed that was building comb behind a bath in Clifton, Bristol. The colony swarmed in around May time and caused the tenants to move out after being unable to use the bath or shower due to the amount of bees coming in through the gaps. The landlord then requested for the bees to be removed ethically and humanely which yesterday we did.
The bees have now been rehomed and have settled in with lots of food given to them to keep them strong and build enough stores ready for the winter.
The bath was rebuilt, new glue, silicone and paint and water test carried out prior to the panel being fitted.
Another great job signed off, another honeybee colony saved and another relieved customer!

The hole was sealed externally and internally so no bees will ever be able to get back in again! We even guarantee it!

European hornets were seen flying into a large gap in a double story house at the top of the apex on the gable end. I wasn’t sure powder was going to hit the nest so l went into the loft to see if l could find it.

I had no choice but to treat it directly in the loft with the Digrain nest destroyer, as the powder would have missed the nest and l would have wasted mine and the customers time.

I had many miss fire attempts with the canister not working properly when a quick spray would have been all l needed to get it under control.

Luckily l was in my bee suit while they flew out and around me. I had some land on my veil but l was more interested in getting them under control than trying to show them walking all over me.
The nest was finally treated, removed and the entry point meshed to prevent more getting in.

I could have just shown before and after of the nest being removed but l wanted to share the real events that happened with equipment failing when you rely on it to carry out the work effectively. Luckily a can is able to do several nests so l had enough to control this one several times over.

I accidentally tear open an active wasp nest while trying to locate it. It was a bit like planet of the wasps with their home built into the prickly bush protecting them, until l came along.

Unfortunately the wasps were flying infront of a path the owner was using to get into the garden and had even stung her, so decided their stay was overdue and time for Beekind Pest Control to step in.

We had this nest treated and removed in under 2 minutes making the garden safe to use again.

From a queen wasp cell starting in February to a 2-3ft sized nest being fully built by September, the wasps are non stop knowing they have 1 job, to get the nest ready to have new queens laid before the current one dies.
When we get calls for wasps in June or July. so many will say they've only seen them for the past few days or weeks but when you know the full story of how wasps live, their life cycle and what month they will be at a certain stage, many customers don't realise, that nest has been active for months.

It's taken the queen wasp 6 weeks to build the first pods so she can lay her first set of eggs, then another 3-4 weeks for the eggs to pupate into workers. That's 10 weeks before you might see any activity apart from 1 large queen wasp flying back and forth.

By mid June/July, there will be 1000s of eggs laid, 1000s of workers in the nest and hundreds out scavenging for food and resources.

We are now in August where the nest is close to its full size and the queen close to laying her first queen eggs, if not already. This depends how early she started building her nest from her winter slumber and how quickly the workers gathered resources.

I go out to around 5-7 wasp nests a day in July/Aug/September and can tell which queen had a good start to the year and which one didn't.

We find bees in a bath! But not in Bath but in Bristol!

Honeybee scouts have found a hole, scanned it, told the colony its a good place to move into, then in May 2026 it swarmed into the hole and is now building honeycomb behind the bath!

The only humane option here is to remove the bath, but l need to be wearing my bee suit and gloves while l disconnect the hot and cold water pipes, drain pipe and clamps holding the bath down. Plus remove a shower screen.

As you read this post, the bees are still there building honeycomb. They haven’t been rehomed yet.

Following my rant yesterday, l was overwhelmed and taken back by the actual real nice positive and supportive comments from pest controllers who are out there on their own like myself, to the fact l felt the need to respond.

No one had to reach out in their busy day and life to speak to a nobody like me but they did. I thoroughly appreciated everyone who called, or messaged me. I actually feel the pest control industry has a lot of really good, kind and caring business owners out there, and its been brilliant to have that connection with you.

I would start a WhatsApp group so we could all just have a good crack on it, keep each other company and have some laughs but not sure if that would work. Id be up for it but not sure if anyone else would.

Doing social media posts has been a blessing in disguise as its shown me there are some great people out there. Many l wouldnt have known if l didnt have a social media account.

I wont lie, im absolutely terrible at messaging or calling people, l always feel im bothering people or l dont know what to talk about. So l just drive, work and then go home and do more work. Maybe go gym if its not too hot 😂

Anyway, those who follow, those who support me on my journey, those who like what l share, and those who message me, l want to just say a big thank you. I dont think l am all that or anything special but the support has made me feel very valued. 💪🏻
