👏 A big congratulations to Sam!

We’re incredibly proud to share that our apprentice carpenter, Sam Davison, has successfully completed his Level 2 Carpentry and Joinery Apprenticeship, achieving a Distinction! 🏆

It’s a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the hard work and commitment Sam has shown throughout his training.

To recognise his success, we’ve treated Sam to some new Makita UK tools to support him as he continues to develop his skills.

At Saunders Brothers, we believe it’s important to invest in the next generation of skilled tradespeople. The construction industry needs talented, committed individuals like Sam, and it’s equally important that businesses recognise and support those who are putting in the work to learn their trade.

We’re pleased to be playing our part in developing those skills and helping secure the future of our industry.

Well done, Sam! A thoroughly deserved achievement, and we’re looking forward to seeing you continue to progress with the team. 👏

🧱 Matching brickwork might seem like a small part of a building project, but it’s one of those details that can have a big impact on the finished result.

When extending or renovating an existing property, it’s important that new brickwork works with what’s already there. That means considering more than just the colour. Size, texture, finish, mortar and pointing all play their part.

At Saunders Brothers, we take the time to get these details right, whether that means comparing samples of new bricks or sourcing reclaimed materials to achieve the best possible match.

It’s particularly important when working with period and listed buildings, where preserving the character of the original property can bring additional challenges and requirements.

For us, this attention to detail is part of the job, regardless of the size or type of project.

Feedback like this means a lot to us.

There’s a lot that goes into a successful building project beyond the finished result. Keeping clients informed, staying organised, dealing with the unexpected and making the whole process as straightforward as possible are just as important.

So, hearing that our clients found the experience smooth and stress-free, and that the finished result was better than they could have imagined, is something the whole team can be proud of.

A big thank you to our clients for taking the time to share their experience.

Here’s a different view of our period farmhouse project 👀

These aerial shots give a great view of the farmhouse and just how much has been happening across the site.

Working on a period property like this isn’t simply about building something new. It’s about working carefully with what’s already there, understanding how the different parts of the property have been constructed and making sure new work sits comfortably alongside the original.

We’ve plenty more to share as work continues. 👌

The transformation has started! 🏗️

Following our recent New Project Alert, the site was set up, the existing garage was carefully demolished and work got underway on the foundations for its replacement.

The new garage will be much larger than the original and connected to the house in a similar way, giving our long standing clients much more practical space.

Still plenty to do, but it’s great to see the new structure starting to take shape from the ground up. 👌

More progress to follow!

The bits you don’t see when it’s finished 👀

It’s easy to focus on the finished result, but so much of the important work in a renovation eventually gets completely hidden from view.

Steelwork, timber framing, insulation, first fix electrics and plumbing, plasterboard and all the preparation that goes into getting a space ready for the finishing work to begin.

These during and after photos are a great example of just how much goes on behind the scenes to create what eventually looks like a simple, beautifully finished space.

A good build isn’t just about what you can see on the surface 👌

THE FINAL REVEAL! 👀🏡

We’ve shared plenty of progress from our Beaconsfield renovation project and now it’s time to show you the finished result!

It’s incredibly satisfying to see everything come together, from the building work behind the scenes to the final details that have transformed our clients home.

Another project completed, another happy client, and one we’re proud to share. 👌

Craftsmanship isn’t just about the finished result. 👌

It’s in the work that happens along the way.

Repairing and preserving original timbers. Recreating period details. Working with existing brickwork. Bespoke joinery. Traditional roofing. Knowing when something should be replaced and, just as importantly, when it should be carefully retained.

It’s all part of doing the job properly. 👌

Maybe you need a bigger kitchen, another bedroom, more natural light or simply a layout that works better for the way your family lives now.

When your home no longer quite fits, moving can seem like the obvious answer. But could extending, renovating or reconfiguring the property you already have give you what you need?

There’s plenty to consider on both sides, from costs and disruption to location, available space and what could realistically be achieved with your existing property.

We explore the options in our Should I Move or Improve? blog to help you start weighing up what could work for you.
