A bit more than a trim today.

A hedge reduction in Dunston, along with a lawn cut and a general tidy. It’s nice to see it all come together once the clearing up is done.

Limited availability for new customers before December. For garden tidies and regular maintenance, just send me a few photos and a description of what you’d like doing and I’ll get back to you with a quote.

“What do you do in winter as a gardener?”

I get asked this quite a bit. There’s plenty of garden maintenance that carries on into winter, and it hasn’t slowed down for me yet.

Over the last couple of weeks, in between my regular garden customers, I’ve been working through a few larger projects to make their gardens more manageable.

This one in New Whittington was about keeping things simple. Shrubs and weeds cleared, membrane down and bark laid across the front and side bed for a low-maintenance finish.

I’ve got quite a few projects on the go, but if you’re wanting something similar doing, let me know. More to share soon, so watch this space.

I will be putting my feet up over Christmas though. Even gardeners get a Christmas break.

Moving house comes with enough jobs. This garden was one to get sorted before the boxes arrived.

There’s more garden around this bungalow in New Whittington than the photos probably suggest, with separate areas to work through. Plenty of hand weeding across the gravel and borders, including uncovering a rose bed that had become overgrown.

A fresh start for the garden as well as the bungalow.

Nice little satisfying reset in between regulars today for a new customer in Bolsover.

The grass and weeds had taken over a bit, but it’s looking much tidier now.

I’ve had a cancellation this Thursday, so if anybody has a bigger job or a garden that needs resetting, send me a message.

If not, I might actually have to have a day off 👀

A very satisfying garden reset in Mansfield Woodhouse 🌿

Everything stripped back, dead ivy removed and all waste taken away, leaving a blank canvas ready for whatever comes next.

I love a good garden reset, so if you’ve got one that needs tackling, please get in touch.

Garden reset completed today in Bolsover 🌿

Really pleased with how this one turned out.

This garden just needed bringing back under control, and after plenty of cutting back, hand weeding and digging out the larger weeds, it’s looking like a completely different space.

The customer was lovely to work for, and this one came from a recommendation by one of my regular customers just down the road, which I really appreciate.

Another full day transforming this garden in Barrow Hill. 🌿

It was a tough one, but jobs like this are always worth the effort.

Once everything had been cleared back, we walked around the garden and were surprised by just how many of the original plants had survived beneath all the overgrowth. There were some lovely established plants hiding away that just needed a bit of light and space again.

Seeing the customer’s reaction at the end made all the hard graft worthwhile.

Another garden brought back to life. 💪

A satisfying Saturday morning in North Wingfield.

After a few very hot days working through my regular gardens, it was nice to finish the week with a proper before and after.

The lawn had become overgrown, with self-seeded weeds spreading throughout the patio and hardstanding. A thorough mow and plenty of careful hand weeding later, the whole garden is looking much neater and far easier to keep on top of.

Now it’s time to put the tools away and hope England can finish the job tonight. ⚽🌿

Thank you for choosing Chap’s Garden Services.

First day back after a few days away camping in Wales and straight into this one over in Carr Vale. 🌿

This is exactly the sort of project I enjoy most. Taking an overgrown garden and giving it a fresh start, so it’s somewhere the customer can enjoy spending time again.

It’s amazing what a bit of time, care and plenty of hand weeding can do.

Thanks to another lovely customer for choosing Chap’s Garden Services.

Today’s been one of the hottest days I’ve ever worked in, but it’s also reminded me just how kind people can be.

I’ve been offered ice lollies by every customer, neighbours came over to check I was alright, and even a Tesco delivery driver let me stand in the freezer in the back of his van for a couple of minutes to cool down. Those little acts of kindness really do make a difference when you’re working outside all day in temperatures like these.

As for one of today’s jobs in Tapton, the driveway has been cleared of weeds, the lawn mown, borders tidied, and the front garden is looking smart again.

Massive thanks to everyone who looked out for me today. It really was appreciated.
