The first memorial I ever noticed needed sorting out and cleaned up.

I returned two months later to find it in the same state I found it in before cleaning it and vandalized as well. It’s heartbreaking to see these spaces neglected and now they’re being ripped apart. Is this what kind of country we live in? I try to keep politics out of these videos but this one has made me cross that line.

Whoever is in power around Derbyshire & Chesterfield needs to address this. It’s demoralizing for the family’s and those that literally have gave or are giving the ultimate sacrifice for a peaceful country. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!! I beg you!

Whilst working down in Hertfordshire I went to this memorial thinking that I’d have yet another one to sort out and clean but to my absolute delight - I found this one in ALMOST pristine condition. I’m over the moon about this one and hats off to the council, community or whoever keeps this one looking like it is.

Many of us walk past our messy community spaces, including me, some of us think I wish someone would clean it…including me.

Now hear me out… what if, we just a small percentage of us took a moment, just one minute of our 1440 we have in a day. Just one. To pick up a bottle, pull out a dandelion or scrape some bird crap off. I think we would have a better country and a respected community.

This kind of gesture isn’t glamorous, but it’s not below any of us.
Small actions keep our heroes’ memories alive.
