Before: a garden nobody used.
After: the space the whole family wants to be in.

This Derbyshire project started with a consultation. The clients had a rough idea of what they wanted but no clear plan. We designed first, agreed the spec, fixed the price — and built exactly what was on the drawing.

Small works package completed today for a customer in Dronfield and what a difference it’s made.

We focused on improving the flow through the garden, creating a more usable and connected space. This included installing clean timber lawn edgings, along with a raised sleeper feature wall to add structure and interest. A fresh new lawn, instantly lifting the space and tying everything together.

To finish things off, we added a beautiful handmade gate enhancing both the look of the garden and providing that extra bit of security.

This is why I love this time of year in my garden.

The pond is starting to wake up, plants are coming into flower, and the whole space just feels alive again. The yellows, purples, fresh greens, and the movement on the water. It’s these little moments that make a garden feel special. Not just something nice to look at, but something that changes with the seasons and brings wildlife and nature right up to your doorstep.

Hi, if you don’t already know me, my name is Jacob Onza, owner and founder of Onza Landscapes, now Onza Garden Design.

The name change reflects the natural progression of both myself and the business. I genuinely love building outdoor spaces for people, and over the last few years the clients I’ve enjoyed helping most are those who come to us not just for construction, but for ideas, guidance, and a garden that truly works for their lifestyle.

Creating a space which functions properly is just as important as how it looks, not just on completion day, but for years to come.

I’ve been privileged to study garden design through the National Design Academy, which has strengthened my commitment to delivering gardens that are thoughtfully designed, carefully built, and finished with planting and aftercare that bring everything together.

Onza Garden Design is about more than building gardens that look good. It’s about crafting outdoor spaces that reflect how you live and delivering excellence from design through to construction and beyond.
