Sandstone wall rebuild, Tarporley 🧱

This one involved taking the original wall down stone by stone, then rebuilding it using those same stones. Thus, keeping the character and history of the boundary intact rather than starting from scratch with new material.

It's the kind of job that takes patience: every stone has to go back in a way that works structurally as well as visually.

What does a typical day on-site look like at K Blythin? 🛠️

It starts with an assessment. All stonework tells a story — it shows us where the building has moved and where previous repairs failed.

Once we've gotten the lay of the land, we then methodically cut out failed mortar without harming the stone, prepare the bespoke mix, and apply it in the right conditions.
