We were asked to design and make three glass fronted cabinets for a beautiful historic hotel. They sit outside three lovely conference rooms and hold a welcome sheet for the attendees.

In order for them ti blend with the building and compliment the high end clientele we sourced African Mahogany from an old Victorian building. Hand carved details were added in th moulding and antique brass ironmongery sits beautifully with the gently aged full French Polish.

We incorporated plush purple velvet on a cork and timber back for the bronze pins to hold the welcome sheet.

We get to work in some beautiful historic buildings while we craft and restore exquisite interiors. Our latest work has been for Hoar Cross Hall Spa Hotel (we were recently asked to become a trusted craftsman for their work). Here we have beautifully aged oak with lots of linen fold panels and turned detailing. Beautiful!!!

A beautiful pair of handmade driveway gates with carved detail. They sit wonderfully amongst the trees in a country home.

We’ve incorporated raised pegs and blacksmith made ironmongery.

A beautiful home office with pivoting pocket doors and display shelving hand crafted for a lovely couple. A place to work and be creative while being able to close everything away at the end of the day.

The shelving has been designed for larger cook books and pockets for displaying treasures. All mouldings and detailing carefully designed and made to sit alongside the originals in the home. Farrow and Ball paint and gently limed and aged oak sit alongside antique brass handles. All finished with our homemade wax. Beautiful.

It’s been a pleasure visiting and working for this couple and we hope they have many years enjoying their new room!

This was fun! One of our lovely clients asked us to craft a sculpted oak gate to sit alongside cleft fencing. Everything sits together beautifully with hand sculpted posts and deep tenons in the fence and gate.

We’ve incorporated raised pegs and blacksmith made ironmongery.

Not our usual refined work but a real joy to bring quality craftsmanship and design to a beautiful garden.

A beautiful walnut Victorian writing box just leaving the workshop after a full restoration.

This box came to us with a badly damaged leather, jammed writing drawer, missing escutcheon and key. A lovely mixture of disciplines for a restorer. After a full polish and wax it’s now looking, feeling and smelling beautiful.

We are privileged to work in many beautiful homes….large and small. This new client is probably the largest. We’ve been asked to become a trusted supplier to Hoar Cross Hall Hotel and Spa (part of the Hiddenwell luxury hotel brand of historic properties). A beautiful Victorian property that has been converted into a luxury hotel and spa. We look forward to sharing more details as the work progresses.

Preserving Age, Character And Story
We restore furniture, interiors and architectural woodwork, breathing life back into what you love or hold dear.

Often, the pieces that come to us carry far more than their weight in wood.

They hold family history, stories that have travelled through generations.

It might be a cherished heirloom that has been passed down, something remembered from childhood, or a wedding gift from a great-granddad returning from the war.

These objects have tremendous sentimental value.

And then there are those who live in listed homes, who feel a deep sense of responsibility to look after what has been entrusted to them. It is their turn to care for something of historic value, and they want to get it right.

That is where restoration begins.

Whether it is sentimental, monetary or historic, it is a deep appreciation of the worth of what is in front of you and an understanding of how easily something can be damaged by the wrong timber, the wrong finish or the wrong metalwork.

Here’s a little glimpse of one of our larger projects this year. Wonderful restoration required as well as historic joinery in designing and making modern spaces.

A lovely complete door restoration in a historic home.

Careful stripping of the old varnish and stain reveals some wonderfully aged oak. Old stains removed and lots of resins, oils and homemade waxes bring depth and protection.

All ironmongery carefully restored. New discreet weather seals, thresholds and nigh latch fitted.

Beautiful to touch and a joy to drive up and see as the first welcome to a home….and no draughts!!
