TEST IT TUESDAY

When did you last test your smoke alarms?

A working smoke alarm can provide vital early warning of a fire, but it can only protect you if it is functioning correctly. Press and hold the test button until the alarm sounds, and check every alarm in the property.

If an alarm doesn’t sound, regularly chirps or appears damaged, don’t ignore it. It may need a new battery, cleaning or replacing.

Ed and Henry have been busy in Devauden, core drilling holes for new bathroom and kitchen extraction systems.

Getting the positioning right and creating clean, accurate openings is an important part of the installation, allowing the extractor ducting to be fitted neatly and efficiently.

Effective extraction helps remove moisture, steam and unwanted odours, improving ventilation and helping to prevent condensation and mould.

A faulty floodlight was behind a lighting circuit repeatedly tripping at this property in Whitebrook.

We were called out to investigate and traced the problem to the outdoor fitting. We’ll be back to replace it with a new floodlight and get everything working as it should.

We’re very pleased with the finished result on this recent project in Usk.

The installation combines steel conduit with carefully integrated LED strip lighting built into the cabinetry, creating a clean, contemporary finish while making the lighting part of the overall design of the room.

The system also benefits from full smart control, giving the customer convenient control over their lighting and allowing different areas and scenes to be managed to suit how the space is being used.

A great example of how the electrical installation can become a feature of the interior rather than simply something hidden away.

Follow up from yesterdays post - Air source heat pump electrical installation completed in Trellech.

The installation included the main power supply, a dedicated control circuit and the associated ducting required for the new Grant air source heat pump.

The cabling needed to be routed along the path to reach the north side of the property, where the weather compensation sensor is located. The low-voltage sensor cable was carefully installed beneath the gravel path, with Henry reinstating and tidying the gravel afterwards to leave everything neat and presentable.

All cabling has been neatly concealed within Whisker flexible conduit, providing both protection and a clean finished installation.

We also installed a FuseBox consumer unit with a Type F RCD, as required for this particular Grant air source heat pump.

Ed finished the installation with clear, professional labelling, and the system is now ready for testing, commissioning and handover to the customer.

A good team effort from Ed and Henry, and another tidy installation completed by TMB Electrical Solutions.
