📢 Planning appeal decision: 30 homes approved north of Olimpick Drive

A planning appeal has been allowed for up to 30 new homes on land north of Olimpick Drive here in Chipping Campden, overturning the Council’s earlier refusal.

The scheme includes 12 affordable homes and 1 self-build plot, plus contributions toward local schools and libraries. The Planning Inspector recognised the development would have some impact on the landscape and the public footpath running through the site (part of the Cotswold Way), but ruled this was outweighed by the area’s shortage of available housing land.

Conditions have been attached covering drainage, construction traffic, landscaping, and protecting local wildlife — full layout and design details will still need Council approval at the next (reserved matters) stage.

Charity Walk Complete!

Walking all 102 miles of the Cotswold Way, Bath to Chipping Campden, in just 7 days, whilst wearing Ballgowns!

The walk was to fundraise for Refuge, a charity that does incredible work supporting survivors of domestic abuse. The safety and empowerment of women is a cause incredibly close to our hearts, and particularly timely, taking place during the World Cup, as evidence shows domestic abuse increases when England play football - whether they win or lose.

Delighted to secure a resolution to grant planning permission for up to 35 new homes in Offenham at Wychavon Planning Committee last week. We have been working with the council and applicant for a number of years, culminating in a scheme that integrates fully with other recently approved schemes immediately adjacent, and which will deliver a much needed mix of market and affordable homes. During the lifetime of the application, much changed in planning, not least of which was adoption of the SWDPR. We worked closely with the planning officer at Wychavon and were able to demonstrate that this was the right site in the right location to deliver homes with a number of benefits to tip the balance in favour. Working collaboratively with officers wherever possible is still the best way to deliver the right scheme in the right place amid an ever changing planning landscape. Well done Catherine Hoyte!
