🔧 Full-time Apprenticeship

We’re looking for a new Apprentice Plumbing & Heating Engineer to join our growing team at Forbes George Ltd.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn a skilled trade, gain recognised qualifications and build a long-term career in the plumbing and heating industry.

We work across plumbing, heating, heat pumps, air conditioning and renewable energy, giving you the opportunity to gain experience across a much wider range of work than a traditional plumbing apprenticeship.

What you’ll learn

Working alongside our experienced engineers, you’ll gain hands-on experience with:

* Plumbing and heating installations
* Boilers and heating systems
* Hot water cylinders
* Underfloor heating
* Fault finding and maintenance
* Air source heat pumps
* Renewable heating technologies
* Domestic and commercial projects

You’ll also attend college as part of your apprenticeship, with college days paid.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is:

✅ Reliable and punctual
✅ Hard-working with a good attitude
✅ Keen to learn and take instruction
✅ Practical and comfortable working with their hands
✅ Polite and professional around customers
✅ Able to work well as part of a team
✅ Genuinely interested in building a career in plumbing and heating

You MUST be able to reliably get yourself to our premises in Leckhampton, Cheltenham for a 7:30am start each working day.

You’ll travel from our premises to jobs with our engineers, but getting yourself to work for 7:30am is your responsibility.

Previous plumbing experience isn’t essential. Attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are far more important to us.

Your role will include:

✅ Managing supplier invoices and payments
✅ Bank reconciliations and credit control
✅ Using Xero for day-to-day finance tasks
✅ Purchase orders and job costing support
✅ Office management and administration
✅ Supporting engineers and the operations team
✅ Liaising with customers and suppliers
✅ Helping improve office systems and processes

We'd love to hear from you if you:

✔ Have office management and/or finance administration experience
✔ Are confident using Xero (essential)
✔ Are organised, motivated and enjoy solving problems
✔ Have excellent attention to detail
✔ Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
✔ Love being part of a supportive team
✔ Simpro experience is a bonus, but full training will be provided
