New in the TITAN trade portal: a wiring designer.

Draw the system before you fit it. TITAN batteries, protection, busbars, chargers and loads, wired up on screen, with cable size, voltage drop and fuse ratings checked as you draw. It is not just Victron: Renogy, Sterling, Votronic, CTEK, Redarc, EPEver, Schaudt, Mastervolt and Sargent are in the library, and anything else goes in as a custom device.

Tidy lays the whole thing out in one click, and the export gives you an A4 or A3 PDF with the diagram, the cable schedule, the parts list and the checks, carrying your company name on the title block.

It is the same tool our team uses to draw up systems for TITAN owners, so the drawing you hand over matches how we would specify it. Owners can request one at titanlithium.co.uk/pages/wiring-diagrams.

Today we fitted one of the very first TITAN Lithium 240Ah Type 019 batteries to roll out, and what a unit it is.

Built to work, not just look good.

This 2-seat commercial Grenadier came into OBUK to receive a serious mobile power upgrade for CP Utilities.

We fitted the new TITAN Lithium 240Ah Type 019, giving the vehicle 3,072Wh of onboard LiFePO₄ energy, powered by the Victron Orion XS DC to DC charger, paired with a 3,000W Renogy inverter to provide mains power for charging cordless tools while out on the job.

With a vehicle that gets worked hard, loaded with equipment and tools, this isn't about hiding everything behind trim.

It's about proper cable sizing, protection and a system that's built to be used.

We put our batteries through ten of the worst things that can happen to a lithium battery. Then we had someone independent write down what happened.

TITAN batteries are now type tested to IEC 62619 & 62620, the international safety standard for lithium batteries in marine, off-grid and industrial use, and is quickly becoming a requirement for marine insurers.

Here is the part that actually matters. Plenty of brands quote a standard their cell supplier holds, which tells you something about a component inside the battery rather than the battery itself. We sent finished TITAN packs to an independent laboratory and had them tested as complete products, under our own name. One of very few UK brands to have done it that way.

Overcharged well past the cut off, on voltage and then on current. Terminals shorted at full charge. Crushed in a press. Force discharged. Driven past its temperature limits. Dropped. And the hard one, a short circuit forced inside the cell itself, which is the failure behind most lithium battery fires.

No fire. No explosion. Passed all tests.

It counts for most on the water. ISO 23625, the standard for lithium batteries in small craft, asks for IEC 62619 and IEC 62620 together. We hold both, and the Boat Safety Scheme and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency point the same way. So if your insurer or your surveyor has ever asked what your battery is actually tested to, there is now a signed document that answers it.
