Interviews with an Architect | Andrew Inchley

Continuing our Interviews with an Architect series, we sit down with Andrew Inchley of Yiangou Architects to discuss pushing the boundaries in architectural glazing.

Andrew shares his thoughts on how glazing design has evolved, the increasing ambition behind large-scale installations, and how advances in specialist glazing systems are allowing architects to realise ideas that were once difficult or even impossible to achieve.

We also explore the importance of early collaboration between architect, glazing specialist and contractor, particularly as designs become larger and more technically challenging.

Having worked alongside Yiangou Architects on many exceptional projects over the years, it was great to hear Andrew’s perspective on how glazing continues to evolve and what may be possible in the future.

A big thank you to Andrew for taking part.

Simon shares his thoughts on how these developments have influenced architectural design, while considering the important balance between scale, proportion, performance and practicality.

Having worked alongside MRT Architects for many years, it was great to hear Simon’s perspective on an area of architecture that has also been at the heart of our own work at UltraView.

Gloucestershire Country Manor | MHB Steel

A beautiful combination of historic architecture, craftsmanship and exceptional materials.

As part of the extensive renovation of this Grade II listed Gloucestershire country manor, UltraView supplied and installed MHB SL30-ISO thermally broken solid steel doors to the new breakfast room and adjoining garden loggia.

Standing at over 3 metres high, the doors retain remarkably slender steel profiles, creating generous views and a strong connection between the house and gardens.

The frames are finished in MHB’s Rembrandt Collection – Living Metal Dark Bronze. Left uncoated, the genuine bronze surface will naturally patinate and evolve over time, developing its own unique depth, tone and character.
