Nice bit of detail work coming together on this section.

Integrating features like this into a tiled roof takes careful setting out and a lot of attention to detail. Getting the cuts clean, maintaining consistent gauge and ensuring everything is properly weathered in is key to both the finish and the long term performance.

It is these areas that can make or break the overall look of a roof, and the team have done a great job keeping everything neat and uniform.

Another solid step forward on this project, looking forward to seeing it all come together.

A good view of the structure taking shape on this one.

This stage is all about getting the framework right. The setting out, the alignment and the quality of the timber work all play a huge role in how the finished roof performs. If it is right here, everything that follows becomes that much smoother.

There is a lot that goes into this part of the job that often goes unseen once the roof is complete. The team have been putting in the work to ensure everything is solid, level and built to last.

Great to see the progress being made on site. Looking forward to the next phase as we start closing this up.

Progress moving nicely on this one as we get into the tiling phase.

There is something satisfying about seeing it come together from the battens up. Setting out is key at this stage, making sure everything is lined through properly so the finished roof not only performs but looks the part as well.

Material handling and organisation on the roof makes a big difference too. Keeping everything stacked and ready allows the team to work efficiently and maintain a steady pace without compromising on quality.

A solid effort from the lads on site, looking forward to pushing this further on over the coming days.

Back on site this week and getting into the strip out phase on this project.

You can really see here how important the early stages are. Once the coverings are removed, it gives a clear view of the existing structure and allows the team to assess everything properly before moving forward. From the rafters to the insulation and chimney detailing, it is all about getting the fundamentals right.

Projects like this come with their challenges, especially when working around existing features and ensuring everything is brought up to current standards. The team have approached it with the right mindset, methodical, thorough and focused on doing it properly from the outset.

Looking forward to seeing this one progress as we move into the next stage and start building it back up.

There’s a lot of talk about AI replacing trades.

In roofing?

Unlikely.

AI can analyse images.
It can generate reports.
It can even estimate material quantities.

But it can’t:
• Feel movement in loose ridge tiles
• Test the integrity of ageing flashing
• Assess wind uplift exposure in person
• Clear debris before it becomes structural damage

Experience on-site still matters - especially in the UK climate.

Technology is a tool.
Judgement is the difference.

If your roof needs real assessment - not assumptions - we’re here to help in Chelmsford.
