Big week for the team at SCB Structures!

It started with a 2-day Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) training course with Hadi Thaher: a really insightful experience exploring the responsibilities, coordination requirements, and importance of safe temporary works management on site.

Proud to say: test passed ✅
Which means we are now officially expanding our services to include TWC support, with our first BIG project starting on site in just two weeks… exciting times ahead!

Stepping into history today. ⛪️

SCB Structures have been appointed to undertake a Structural Condition Assessment of a stunning Grade II listed church in Lewisham.

Projects like these are always special, combining engineering expertise with the responsibility of helping preserve an important piece of history for future generations.

From centuries-old craftsmanship to the character within every detail, this beautiful building truly deserves the care and attention required to protect it for years to come.

We are proud to share the completion of this impressive 5-bedroom detached home built on a challenging hillside site 🏡

Working with varying levels and difficult soil conditions made this project a real engineering challenge. The standout feature has to be the vaulted loft ceiling, designed to create a spacious master bedroom with a stunning en-suite.

Great to see the vision come to life and another quality development successfully delivered 👷‍♂️

A day in life 👷‍♂️👨‍💻:

Basement inspection carried out following concerns over corrosion to the existing steel beams supporting the ground floor structure.

SCB Structures scope included assessing the condition and structural integrity of the beams, identifying any remedial works required, and providing practical engineering solutions moving forward.

Protecting existing buildings starts with understanding what lies beneath!

Interim site visit in Basildon as works are underway. Unfortunately this property suffered extensive fire damage. We have worked with the Clieng and Contractor to delivery specific and drawings for the re-build of the property to ensure structural adequacy.
