Project 4 of 10, our largest intrusive UXO survey to date.

We deployed all three of our CPT rigs simultaneously across 1,639 survey positions at the Tilbury Energy Recovery Facility in Essex, navigating scope changes and pre-deployment delays to deliver the project on schedule and under budget. Not one of the 1,639 survey positions coincided with any of the 701 existing piles on site, a logistical achievement the client specifically highlighted.

The client described Brimstone as "a pleasure to work with." We'll take that.

With the World Cup getting underway this week, we found ourselves going down a football history rabbit hole. Did you know that:

⚽ Old Trafford was so badly damaged during WWII that Manchester United didn't return for eight years

⚽ Arsenal played wartime fixtures at rivals Tottenham's ground

⚽ A Football League match at Bramall Lane was postponed in 1985 after a 2,200lb WWII bomb was discovered just behind the Kop End

We explore these stories and more in our blog, looking at the impact WWII had on football stadiums and the legacy that remains today: https://buff.ly/mmZ9N8w

Discover how WWII bombing campaigns left a lasting impact on iconic football stadiums like Old Trafford and Wembley.

Project 3 of 10 takes us to Faversham, Kent, and one of the clearest demonstrations of what UAV-led surveying makes possible.

Cleve Hill Solar Park was the UK's largest solar farm development at the time. At 316 hectares, traditional survey methods simply weren't an option for a project of this scale and timeline.

The Brimstone team recently re-deployed to Lithuania to complete a UAV survey across a 50-hectare segment of the Rail Baltica corridor between Kaunas and Šveicarija.

Rail Baltica is one of Europe's most significant infrastructure programmes, integrating the Baltic states into the European rail network, connecting Tallinn to Warsaw across five EU countries.

Our survey required careful coordination around early works already underway on site, active vegetation clearance operations, Kaunas Airport airspace, and the existing rail infrastructure running through the corridor.

The survey is now concluding, with the team preparing to return to the UK 💪

This month, Brimstone UXO turns 10, and we've been marking the occasion by looking back at the journey that got us here.

From incorporating in June 2016 to international deployments across Eastern Europe and Africa, three CPT rigs, a graduate scheme, and the launch of Remnant, the last decade has taken us further than we could have imagined when we began trading in May 2017.

Project 2 of 10 takes us to the East Yorkshire coast, and one of the most significant contracts in Brimstone's history.

RAF Cowden operated as an active air weapons range from the 1940s until 1998. With an estimated 2.5 million ammunition items expended over that time, and coastal erosion continuously depositing UXO onto a publicly accessible beach, this was a complex, long-term operation, and the first time the DIO had awarded a clearance programme on public land to a commercial organisation.

This month, we’re celebrating 10 years of Brimstone UXO. To mark the occasion, we're looking back at 10 projects that shaped who we are. The sites that challenged us, pushed us to think differently, and helped define how we work today.

We're kicking off with Norman Shaw North, a Grade I listed building on the Victoria Embankment, forming part of the UK Parliamentary estate. When the client first approached us, they'd already been told by another provider that intrusive survey work wasn't feasible.

We found a way. Swipe to find out how. 👉

316 hectares. 25 days. 1,606 targets identified.

At Cleve Hill Solar Park in Faversham, the UK's largest solar farm at the time, a high water table and active agricultural land made ground-based surveying impractical. We deployed our drone instead.

Several 30mm projectiles were found at a depth of one metre. All safely disposed of, ALARP certificate issued, construction programme protected.
