🌳 Highways Verge Maintenance

Highways vegetation allows nature to remain, but maintaining it is important for safety.
We work to strike a balance between the needs of nature and road safety.

Our machinery makes faster work of a job compared to manual crews, requires less road closure time and can be on-site with others at the same time, working collaboratively.

Tunnel washing - we manage 80% of the UK's highway tunnels.

They need to be clean to provide reflective walls which improve the effectiveness of lights.
We also clean road signage and fixed lights too.
Sensor-controlled to avoid chemical waste.
Our plant machinery is efficient, using only what’s needed to clean – water and cleaning fluids.
Single lane - so others can work.

Safe
Compliant
Documented

Tunnel washing won’t be noticed by the drivers usually, but it does help with safety – clean walls reflect the vehicle lights better, making it lighter rather than dim and dull as they drive through.

We've designed our machinery so that it's efficient and effective - full reach on this boom long-reach spray arm!

In the summer. we are undertaking OPM spraying.

ℹ Oak Processionary Moths were accidentally introduced into the UK in 2015 - and now they’re a threat to oak trees.
The work we do on the railway lines for Network Rail is part of The Forestry Commission’s programme of survey and control.
The spray dries on the leaves and kills the caterpillars on consumption.
The long-reach spray arm can be used for spot or band treatments - unique due to how we’ve innovated the technology.
