Another finishing touch completed by O&J Groundworks 👌

As you can see from the before and after, this area originally had an open gap beneath and alongside the decking. We’ve now transformed it with bespoke timber trellis, designed and built specifically to follow the shape and levels of the existing structure.

This wasn’t a straightforward off-the-shelf fit — the trellis had to be carefully measured, cut and fabricated in four individual pieces, then assembled and installed to create a clean, seamless finish around the existing decking and staircase.

It’s these little details that really bring a project together 🔨🌳

A neat 11-metre run of picket fencing installed plus invisible gate for access to finish off a previous project we completed — our two-tier decking.

The new picket fence was carefully cut, fitted and screwed securely into the existing decking structure, creating a clean, sturdy finish that ties the whole garden together.

It’s often the smaller finishing touches that make the biggest difference! 👌

🔥 Another garden transformation completed by O&J Groundworks! 🔥

Recently completed this garden renovation, including 30+ m² of porcelain paving, giving the area a clean, modern finish.

We also built matching two-tier raised planters either side of the steps, creating a really nice feature and adding some definition to the garden.

🌱 The planters were then topped up with quality topsoil, ready for planting and finishing off by the customer.

From excavation and preparation through to the final porcelain and landscaping details, we take care of the whole job from start to finish.

Another challenging project completed by O&J Groundworks! 💪🌿

This one definitely tested our planning, workmanship and determination from start to finish.

The existing structure was removed and replaced with a brand-new two-tier timber decking system, built to maximise the incredible views while providing a safe, durable and practical outdoor living space.

This wasn’t your average decking job…

🔨 The challenges:

* Extremely restricted access with virtually no direct route to the work area.
* Every piece of timber, every tool and all materials had to be carried up ladders, over walls and through very tight access points.
* The first deck was constructed elevated above the house, with a second, even higher tier built above that.
* Multiple staircases and landings were built to safely connect both levels.
* Precision was key due to the height, restricted working area and surrounding landscape.

The finished project included:
✔️ Complete removal of the old decking.
✔️ New heavy-duty timber subframe.
✔️ Two-tier raised timber decking.
✔️ Bespoke timber staircases and landings.
✔️ Timber balustrades and handrails throughout.
✔️ A safe, solid structure built to last while making the most of the stunning countryside views.

Projects like this don’t happen by cutting corners—they take careful planning, hard work and attention to detail from start to finish.

🌿 A Little Bit of Everything on This One! 🌿

This recent garden renovation involved a wide range of landscaping and improvement works, all coming together to give this outdoor space a complete new lease of life.

The project included:

✅ Reduced digging and ground preparation
✅ Supply and installation of fresh topsoil and new turf
✅ New decking area installed
✅ Sleeper planters and border creation

Another Large-Scale Decking Project Completed ✅

We recently completed this extensive raised decking installation, transforming a difficult sloping garden into a practical, level outdoor living space.

The project began with careful ground preparation and setting out to ensure the structure was perfectly level across the full length of the property. Due to the significant change in ground levels, a robust support system was required.

We installed a heavy-duty gabion basket retaining wall, filled with stone to provide a strong, long-lasting foundation while also creating a modern and attractive finish. Once the retaining structure was in place, the decking framework was constructed and securely fixed, ensuring strength and stability throughout.

The decking boards were then laid and finished to create a large, seamless entertaining area that maximises the usable space around the home and takes full advantage of the surrounding views.

This installation has completely transformed the outdoor area, turning what was previously a sloped and underutilised section of garden into a functional space perfect for relaxing, entertaining, and enjoying the outdoors.

Bit of a transformation at the back of the house over the past few weeks 👇

We’ve taken the whole garden right back to basics and completely reworked the levels from scratch. What was an overgrown, uneven space is now fully cleared, graded, and prepped ready for the next stage.

Ground levels have been reduced and reshaped all the way around the property to improve drainage and usability, with everything now falling correctly away from the house.

Along the rear, we’ve installed gabion baskets which have been mass-filled with 6F5. These aren’t for show—they’re there to do a job: retaining, drainage, and creating a strong, stable structure to work off. They’ll eventually be hidden as part of the finished design, with decking running over the top to create a clean, usable space.
