Stylish Transformation: Refreshing Tired Paths and Patios
True Grip was contacted by a homeowner looking to replace the old, worn-out shingle paths and patio areas surrounding his property. His wife was completely fed up with loose shingle getting stuck in her shoes, migrating across the patio slabs, and constantly being tracked into the house. With her birthday fast approaching, the homeowner decided a stunning garden transformation would make the perfect surprise.
Upon completing our initial survey, we discovered the existing surface was already free-draining and had a sufficient sub-base. This meant preparation only required reducing the depth of the surface to a 35mm thickness, making it ready to accept the premium Addagrip Terrabase system. By utilizing the existing foundation, we saved the client significant excavation and material expenses.
Once on-site, the True Grip team immediately set to work. We regraded the levels and installed extra metal edging where necessary to ensure crisp, clean lines. All displaced shingle and spoil were efficiently removed using a grab lorry, keeping the site clean and minimizing disruption.
As soon as the materials arrived, our team began installing the resin finish. We started with the intricate, detailed work around the existing path slabs a time consuming process, but at True Grip, precision detailing means everything. With the intricate edges secured, the team smoothly laid the main paths and patio areas.
Thanks to our meticulous preparation, the entire installation went perfectly. The result is a beautiful, seamless, and low-maintenance finish just in time for a very happy birthday surprise.

We were contacted by this Sevenoaks client through our website with a very specific brief: the new driveway had to be fully SuDS (Sustainable Drainage Systems) compliant to satisfy their strict planning approval conditions.
While the client’s main builders took care of installing the borders and porous sub-base, our team stepped in to lay a porous limestone capping layer. This crucial step regulated and smoothed out any minor undulations in the existing sub-base, ensuring that when the porous macadam was laid, it achieved an exceptionally high tolerance.
The macadam installation went seamlessly, providing the family with a clean, functional base to park their cars on immediately. We then monitored the weather closely, balancing technical requirements with the family's logistics to find the perfect installation window for the final resin coat.
Our client was incredibly patient and fully understood that high-quality resin cannot be rushed when weather conditions aren't perfect. We are deeply grateful that they appreciated our refusal to cut corners just to chase a quick payment. While our ethos is always to deliver on time, our ultimate priority is executing the job perfectly so that the finished surface remains beautiful and durable for many years to come.

The Perfect Finish for a Modern House in Sevenoaks
When a well-respected local landscaper reached out to us about a high-spec modern house in Sevenoaks, we knew we were in for a treat. This property was absolutely stunning, featuring beautiful contemporary brickwork and massive glass panels.
We headed down to the site to survey the driveway and bring the client some samples to look at. Choosing a driveway colour can be tough, but as soon as she saw the range, she instantly fell in love with Addagrip Stonebound Resin in "Scallop." It was the perfect match, subtly tying together the modern bricks and the sleek glass. With the colour locked in, we got a date on the calendar.
Because other trades were still rushing to finish up their work, we decided to tackle the project in two stages. First, we laid a solid open-course macadam base. This gave the client a clean, firm surface to walk and drive on right away, while keeping the other workmen out of the mud.
Then, we waited for the perfect weather window to come back and lay the final resin layer.
One of our biggest challenges was the location. The house sits right in the middle of a narrow street, meaning our trucks and gear would inevitably block the road for the neighbours. We didn't want to cause a headache, so we meticulously timed our deliveries and work windows. Thanks to some careful planning and plenty of cooperation, we got everything laid without a single complaint.
To top it off, the British weather actually played ball! We got a brilliant stretch of sunshine, giving the resin plenty of time to cure flawlessly.
The result? A durable, breathtaking entrance that perfectly frames a spectacular modern home.

Full Reconstruction: A Race Against Time in Surrey
True Grip was approached by a highly reputable, long-standing local building company to transform a tired, dated driveway in a remarkably short timeframe. Working collaboratively with both the builder and the client, we designed a striking, durable scheme featuring Granite Setts to frame the driveway, elegant Grey Indian Sandstone at the house entrance, and Rustic Cove resin to deliver a classic, natural shingle finish.
With an immovable family gathering quickly approaching, speed and precision were critical. Our team immediately set out the area and began excavating the old tarmac. Following the dig-out, we installed the granite setts, laid down a geotextile membrane, and built a limestone base to ensure a perfectly free-draining surface. Finally, the Grey Indian Sandstone and Rustic Cove resin were expertly applied.
Thanks to an all-hands-on-deck team effort and a stroke of luck with the British weather, the project was completed a full week ahead of schedule allowing ample time for the resin to cure perfectly before the big event. The client was absolutely thrilled with both the impeccable timing and the stunning final aesthetic.

True Grip was contacted by Chelsea Physic Garden to find an aesthetically pleasing yet practical solution to the problems they were having with the self-binding gravel on their pathways.
The total path area amounted 1600m2, so it was decided to divide the area into 3 phased areas over a 6 month period. This meant the public could still use the Garden and their work force could still tend to the plants. The logistics of excavating tonnes of material and removing this from site wasn’t easy yet working very closely with the project manager and her team we overcame the issue with good communication and precise logistical timings.
Each of the 3 visits to site was planned extensively between True Grip and Chelsea Physic Garden. The groundworks and resin installation went on without an issue, and the team accommodated the Physic Garden work force and public. The project manager was over the moon with the final finish and commended True Grip’s team for their hard work and commitment to the job.

Our client had an existing set of paths which were self-binding gravel, and required constant maintenance. They wanted to upgrade the surface to make access easier and less maintenance. We cleared away the existing self-binding gravel and consolidated the existing sub-base.

True Grip stripped the existing macadam surface and cleared the residue off site. The existing granular sub-base was compacted with a vibrating roller to expose any soft or weak areas. The granular sub-base was increased where required and the complete area had 40mm of limestone 6mm-10mm capping layer installed to bring up the levels to where the macadam had been.
