The Grove, East Sussex
True Grip were contacted by the owner via the website to visit this stunning house in East Sussex. Although the whole house had been finished to a very high standard the very last job, was to tackle the drive and widen the area.
After our initial meeting with the client, we both recognised that it would make sense to widen the drive for ease of parking. True Grip’s surveyor explained that in order to widen the area and to keep the area one monolithic slab, the existing drive would have to be totally reconstructed to lessen the potential of any cracking.
We were faced with many challenges on this project. Neighbours required full access to there own drives, a small tree that had sentimental value had to be accommodated for, a small retaining wall was constructed to hold back next doors path and the client asked to change the shaping of the path design up to the front step a couple of times until she was satisfied with the end result.
We over came these challenges by keeping spoil from the reconstruction to a minimal pile with fast and efficient muck a way lorries, the tree we carefully excavated around and incorporated a design in the edgework to highlight it and the path to the front was never a problem for our groundwork team to make sure the client was satisfied.
The team worked tirelessly on this project and not only was the client happy, but the team were also very proud of their hard work and put on a few pounds due to the tea and cakes supplied by the client, which we are very grateful.
