Nice straight forward breakdown from the other day! Vaillant UK boiler wasn't firing up when there was a call for hot water (heating wasn't being used for obvious reasons π₯΅). This property had an unvented cylinder so checked the basics, and all seemed to be working!
Turns out due to the heat, the customer had somehow turned the flow temperature to the boiler down to 22Β°c, and as the water inside the system was at this temperature, it wasn't going to fire up. Easily turned back up and the boiler fired immediately!
Secondly though, I could hear a bit of gurgling from the heat exchanger, so checked the condense and found it snaking uphill before it joined the pipe. A very easy correction, cut lower so the grey joining hose had a nice smooth bend to it. That should mean no further F.28 / F.29 faults should occur in relation to the condense.
Not all jobs are quite this simple, christ if they all were we'd all be gas engineers!
