Now that’s a Pork chop!!!

Our first pigs are back from the butcher, they have had a brilliant life with us, been here way too long and are massive 😆

We’ve got some spare to send out a few Pork selection boxes on Monday!!

Each box will include a selection of pork chops, joints, sausages and belly pork and will be around 8kg/ box!

Just £8/kg!!!!!!

Postage is £15 for next day courier in special packaging to keep it all cold (we’ve subsidised the postage as much as we can but we can’t do any more I’m sorry!)

2026 autumn calving has begun!!

Only 3 weeks earlier than expected 🤪😅

Starting off strong though with this beautiful little British blue heifer from 'Brownie' 🥰

Are we prepared for calves... nope... absolutely not 🤣

But Brownie had other ideas so here we are 🤣

Hopefully the other girls keep their legs crossed till their due dates for a few more weeks at least 🤞

Mother and daughter ❤️

The white cow, Joanie, is an absolute unit. She's got incredible production and a fantastic frame ~ her width 🥰!

Standing beside her is her daughter, the 3rd calf born as we started farming here and now 23 months old and just 6 weeks away from calving herself.

Joanie is due just a few days after her with🤞another heifer calf.

She's shaping up beautifully, and I genuinely can't wait to see her join the milking herd.

This is the part of farming that I love! Watching these girls being born, rearing them, and then seeing them come into milk alongside their mums is something really special.

Every mating is a chance to improve. We know Joanie's strengths, and we know the few things we'd like to improve, so we carefully chose a bull that would complement her while keeping all the qualities we love.

Fingers crossed her daughter carries those improvements forward... and then one day we'll be saying exactly the same about her calves.

And what were the chances that mother and daughter decided to line up perfectly side by side at the feeder? ❤️

Thankfully we have the best neighbours, who came to both our rescue and the cows' rescue by helping us get bales out to the fields before the girls started shouting at us! 🤣🐄🚜

You never quite realise how important your loader tractor is until it's out of action. Every job suddenly seems to involve it!

Mr Jonesy keeps saying we need a second loader on the farm... and, after this weekend, I think he might actually have a point! 🤔😂

Mr Jonesy and I were filming a video when he placed his hand on the bale...

The next thing I know he's leapt backwards with a scream! 😅

This was the second before he did that and if you zoom in close on his hand...

Turns out he'd been stung by a wasp! 🐝

Watching the footage back, you can actually see the little culprit still attached... 😳👀

Most of the time, I am a responsible adult...Occasionally though, my inner child comes out to remind me life's too short...

The best improvement we've made to this farm by far has to be the water supply. 💧

When we arrived, the farm buildings and fields were running on old 20mm water pipes. We've now upgraded the main grazing water pipes to 35mm, and what a difference it's made.

Last summer, during the hot weather, we were hauling IBCs full of mains water out to the fields several times a day because the troughs would only trickle in... or sometimes not fill at all.

A few ditches, hundreds of metres of blue pipe, and enough fittings to make your bank account cry (those things are expensive! 🤣), and hey presto... proper water pressure!

Even better, it's all supplied from the farm borehole now rather than mains.

We hope to divert the new line into the buildings to connect up even more troughs now we know the supply is good enough!

Cows drink A LOT of water! Especially in weather like this, so seeing the tank refilling as quickly as it's being drunk feels amazing 👏

It makes life so much easier for both us and the cows. 💙🐄
