Hi everyone, thank you for all the support so far with the Fence For Frazer fencing competition this coming Saturday 14th September. We've had a number of people who are unable to attend on the day ask how they can make a donation, so we've setup the Gofundme account where all the proceeds will go directly to the childrens cancer charity LATCH.
If you've not heard about the event, have a read below,
Fence For Frazer
Hi all, we're running a charity fencing competition inspired by Frazer, a very brave local 8 year old child who recently underwent a leg amputation as a result of his battle with cancer. All proceeds and monies raised from the day will go to the children's cancer charity LATCH that have supported many families during difficult times.
The competition is to provide an opportunity for anyone interested to showcase their skillset in the er****on of agricultural stock fencing in a friendly competitive environment, whilst also raising funds and awareness for the charity LATCH to help with all the good work it does in supporting families like Frazer’s.
The hope is that this can become an annual event, to continue to support the charity whilst also showcasing the talent and some of the often-overlooked hidden arts of the agricultural stock fencing industry in South Wales.
The competition will consist of teams of two people to erect a length of agricultural stockproof fence to a set specification under a set time limit. Teams are only required to bring hand tools with all materials provided by the competition organisers and sponsors, Ladds Ironmongers, James Davies Timber, Tornado Wire. We are very thankful for the prizes that have been kindly donated by Pasturetec, LF Fencing, and Bushpig.
Entry fee for the competition is £25 per team, with all proceeds and donations raised will be going to the charity LATCH. All competitors will have free entry to the agricultural show on the day.
The competition is part of the Llandyfaelog Agricultural Show with many other activities and trade stands on the day for all the family to enjoy. The show is on the 14th of September at the United Counties Showground, Carmarthen, SA33 5DR. For anyone coming from further afield, you won’t find an easier show to get to, leave the M4 at Junction 49, onto the A48 for 15 minutes to Carmarthen, then 2 minutes into the showground.
We have already been overwhelmed by the interest by both sponsors and prospective competitors and invite anyone interested to join us on this adventure to create something good and positive on a number of platforms. To bring an industry closer together, where like-minded people can meet, compare styles and learn something new, enhancing standards, whilst raising awareness and funds for a very worthy charity. And last but not least to Frazer, his family, and all others battling through difficult times, letting them know, ‘You are not alone, we are thinking of you, we are there for you’.
