Right lads, Vans are out. These are in. A woman off the London Assembly has done the investigation, and apparently you can get a mixer, a whacker, a laser, the Stihl saw, the breaker, the drills, the levels and 40 bags of cement on one. Wet weather gear will be supplied.

For those of you already doing two hours each way, allow a bit longer.

On the plus side, nobody’s nicking the tools. They’ll still be wherever you fell off. What do you reckon to the new bikes?

SITE MANAGER WANTED – GROUNDWORKS

We’re looking for an experienced Site Manager to join our team

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience managing groundworks projects
• Strong knowledge of excavation, drainage, foundations, concrete and external works
• Ability to manage site operatives, subcontractors and plant
• Good understanding of health & safety and site compliance
• Ability to read drawings and coordinate works
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Relevant site qualifications (SMSTS/SSSTS, First Aid, CSCS etc.)

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing the day-to-day running of the site
• Coordinating labour, plant and materials
• Monitoring progress and quality
• Ensuring health & safety standards are maintained
• Liaising with the client, engineers and subcontractors
• Keeping site records and reporting progress

Our team are currently on Campbell Court carrying out the drainage element of works which includes construction of an adoptable sewer manhole and flow-control chamber to Yorkshire Water S104 standards.

Alongside the sewers we are delivering the associated S278 works (highway connections, junctions and related road construction) and bulk earthworks to form levels, platforms and drainage falls for the 17 plots.
All works are being built to the approved drawings and adopting-authority requirements so the roads and sewers can be adopted on completion.

Progress is continuing at our Sharow site.

The recent mix of heatwaves followed by sudden rain keeps any Groundworker on their toes. Our teams adapt to keep things moving safely and efficiently, whilst making sure the site is prepared for the next phases of construction.
