£2 on Vinted + £22 at Keyishoes = a pair of shoes ready for years more wear 👞♻️

Our customer picked up this pair of shoes on Vinted for just £2.

They were then brought to us at Keyishoes, where we fitted a new non-slip sole and heel for £22.

So, for a grand total of just £24, she now has a smart, practical pair of shoes that could potentially serve her well for years.

We think it’s a great example of what sustainable footwear can look like in the real world. Buy pre-owned, repair where necessary, and keep perfectly good footwear in use rather than replacing it.

🔑 A busy day supporting business and fleet vehicles across the region

Today has taken Keyishoes from Carlisle to Dumfries and Lillyhall, Workington, with a mixture of mobile work and jobs completed from our Carlisle premises.

The vehicles pictured are all commercially operated vehicles, including work for:

🚛 Spare keys for HGVs? Sometimes, yes.

Vehicle keys aren’t just about cars and vans. We can also supply and cut/program spare keys for some HGVs and commercial vehicles, including certain DAF and Scania models.

This DAF vehicle transporter is part of the national ECM vehicle transport fleet, for whom we regularly provide replacement and spare vehicle keys.

HGV key coverage is much more specialised than cars and vans. Information can be limited and we can’t cover every make, model or key system, so we normally need to see or examine an existing working key first to establish what’s possible.

Depending on the vehicle and key system, the job may involve:

🔑 Working directly at the vehicle
🔑 Programming/cutting using the existing key
🔑 Or, in some cases, producing the spare key “on the bench” without needing the vehicle present

At present, our HGV service is for spare/additional keys rather than all-keys-lost situations.

So if you operate a truck, transporter or commercial fleet and would like a spare key, give us a call. We’ll check the existing key and let you know what options are available.

Carlisle workshop ➡️ Dumfries — workshop, mobile & dealership key programming 🔑🚗

A busy day for Keyishoes yesterday, showing the different ways we can look after our customers.

We started at our fixed premises in Carlisle, programming a replacement key card, before heading north to Dumfries.

Once there, we programmed three vehicle keys for a national car dealership, followed by another key for a private customer, programmed right outside their home on their driveway.

That’s one of the advantages of the service we offer.

This 2020 Iveco Daily minibus conversion is fitted with a factory Secure Gateway Module – an additional layer of electronic security found on many modern vehicles.

Think of it as a digital firewall.

It helps protect the vehicle’s electronic systems by restricting certain diagnostic, coding and programming functions through the normal diagnostic socket – and that can include key programming.

So on some modern vehicles, programming a new key isn’t simply a case of plugging a machine into the OBD socket.
