Having sponsored Callum Whelan since he arrived at Carlisle United (which we hope to do again this season).
We were approached by a local girls team (who a friend's daughter plays for). They were looking for a sponsor for the back of their shirts for the next couple of seasons
Following a very short talk we agreed and this is the back of their shirt for the next couple of seasons.
Who knows there may even be a future lioness in the team.
We will name the team and hopefully share a team picture with the permission of parents to share on social media.

Well we have just finished work so called in to see Mam on the way home.
Picked up Mam's recycling bags.

Sadly when the recycling has been collected some things have fallen on the road and not been picked up by the lads.
Being the type of person we are we picked them up.
When we looked they came from elsewhere in the city, Fusehill Street and Longdyke Drive, so must have blown out of the wagon on St. Aidan's Road.
We have now shredded the paperwork so no one can get the addresses.
But we were amazed at
a) where the box and statement came from.
b) how people throw things with addresses, account numbers, names etc on.
c) the sad fact the lads on the wagons run about that much they haven't got time to pick up what blows or drops out the wagon and bags.

electricians, help us spread the word! Share this on your company socials … your customers could be in the dark when it comes to having their electrics checked.
_____________________________________

Research recently commissioned by NICEIC shows 22% of homeowners haven’t had their electrics checked in over a decade.

An electrical check, known as an EICR, is an essential MOT for the home; helping to spot issues early and keeping people safe.

In privately owned homes, it is recommended an EICR is carried out at least every 10 years, and in rented properties it is a legal requirement to have one at least every 5 years.

The guidance is simple, prioritise the safety of your home by getting your installations checked by a NICEIC-registered electrician.

Congratulations to Cumberland council, unfortunately I’m not surprised about this but they have decided to close the road right next to the main entrance of our shop so people can cross safely to Lidl! Just another example of looking after large national companies (with big teams of lawyers) while not worrying too much about what local independent businesses with limited resources will do in the meantime. When I called the council to try and have a conversation about a possible compromise I was told in no uncertain terms that the highways team will not take or make a phone call to discuss what is happening (sounds a bit like a dictatorship to me) THERE IS ANOTHER ENTRANCE AT THE TOP OF THE SLIP ROAD JUST BEFORE THE TURN ONTO EASTERN WAY WHICH ALLOWS YOU TO GET TO THE SHOP SO PLEASE DONT BE PUT OFF COMING TO SEE US AS ANYONE WHO DOES WILL BE REWARDED WITH THE BEST POSSIBLE DEALS WE CAN DO AND OUR USUAL SERVICE WHICH CANNOT BE BEATEN!
PLEASE HELP SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES BY LIKING AND SHARING THIS POST SO THAT EVERYONE CAN SEE HOW THE PEOPLE MAKING THE DECISIONS WITHIN THE COUNCIL LIKE TO OPERATE. THE WORST THING IS THEY WILL NOT EVEN HAVE A CONVERSATION ABOUT IT!!

Bit of PAT Testing today.
Not sure which was worse the fact that they were still using this plug with the cover smashed or the fact when we changed the plug for them we found the neutral screw missing.
Good lesson for young Toby on his take your child to work day from school.
Not our son but a good friends who couldn't and his wife is in an office that Toby didn't want to go to.

Thank you for everyone's patience. Over the last couple of weeks.
Mam has had her operation and is now back home. She just needs to rest up for a few days.
We will be back to normal working hours next week and if you have left a message we will get back to you over the weekend.

We were delighted to present Callum Whelan with his PFA Community Champion Award before Saturday's home game against Brackley Town 🏆

He has been a great ambassador for the club in the community this season and thoroughly deserves this award👏
