This is a property that had been done in NHL 3.5 before my time. As limewash doesn't absorb well into NHL 3.5 after 5-8yrs we decided to use an external product from BEECK which was purchased from Celtic Sustainables.
I can't praise it enough for the right job. BEECK generally achieves slightly higher vapour permeability (lower Sd values of ~0.01m) compared to Earthborn's exterior silicate masonry paint (Sd value of ~0.06m).
So as far as breathability goes, it's as breathable as limewash @ ~0.01m

‼️PLEASE DO NOT HAVE THIS INSULATION GOVERNMENT GRANT IF YOUR PROPERTY IS BUILT IN STONE‼️

This is the 5th property I've come across where dry rot has destroyed the original timbers within 2yrs of being done. The Celotex insulation they use traps in moisture causing terrible damp that's hidden until revealed through the skirting, but at this point it's too late.❗The floor timbers will have already been eaten causing extensive damage and the need to replace timbers.❗

There are breathable materials that could be used to avoid this but hey, it's a government grant and you get what your given.

‼️ STAY CLEAR ‼️.....and good luck.

This would have been a window back in the day....so when converted into a doorway the sides were covered in a concrete band to hide the fact that the original brickwork doesn't meet the floor. The concrete has caused terrible deterioration to the bricks (doing what it does best), so that has been removed and replaced with 3 coats of lime render preventing further damage.

It's not only the right type of lime that's important on stone buildings, different aggregates depending on the structure is as equally important. 😎
