On most construction projects, many talented people contribute to the final result - designers, consultants, contractors, specialist trades and suppliers - each responsible for an important part of the process.
What I enjoy most aboutย ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ท๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฎ๐ด๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ด๐ป & ๐๐๐ถ๐น๐ฑ is being able to see and manage how all those parts come together.
Dartford started for me with the first client meeting and initial brief. From there, the journey moved through defining the scope, design development, technical drawings and visualisation, budgeting and programming, Building Control and landlord approvals, CDM and H&S requirements, tendering, procurement and the appointment and coordination of more than 25 specialist work packages.
Then comes the part that always gives me a real sense of achievement:
These photos capture the early construction and MEP stages. They may look like cables, pipework, equipment and unfinished walls, but from a Project Manager's perspective, they represent hundreds of interconnected decisions finally coming together on site.
For me, that's one of the most rewarding parts of the profession - ๐ป๐ผ๐ ๐๐ถ๐บ๐ฝ๐น๐ ๐บ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฎ๐ด๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ผ๐ป๐ฒ ๐๐๐ฎ๐ด๐ฒ, ๐ฏ๐๐ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป๐ป๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐ท๐ผ๐๐ฟ๐ป๐ฒ๐ ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ผ๐บ ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ถ๐ป๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐น ๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฎ ๐๐ผ ๐ฎ ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐น, ๐ณ๐๐ป๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฒ.
And seeing it gradually become real never gets old.
