An important part of a boiler service that can easily be overlooked…

As part of our boiler service, we disconnect and empty the condensate trap and check that the condensate pipe is clear.

It’s because a blocked condensate pipe can stop a boiler from firing up, so making sure the trap and pipework are clean (and clear) is an important part of keeping your boiler running properly.

This drain had a fair bit going on…

We were called out to a church in Bermondsey after the drains became blocked.

There were roots growing into the drains, along with quite a build-up of fat, which you can see in the third photo.

We got the drains cleared and have put an ongoing maintenance plan in place to help keep everything flowing and prevent any further blockages.

New water mains for a local allotment

Our team has recently been busy installing new water mains to provide water supply for an allotment in East London.

In the photo, you can see the excavation work underway, along with an indication of how the new water pipe will be positioned within the trench. The trench was subsequently excavated to the required depth before the installation was completed.

Bad timing for a broken sprinkler head! ☀️

We recently renewed a defective sprinkler head at a local Bowling Green to restore the irrigation system and ensure the green is receiving the water it needs (particularly during this heatwave)!

Hopefully, this will help the green return to its pristine condition.

Do you know what this pen is used for?

On this photo, we are carrying out a safety check with a voltage tester pen before starting work on this faulty boiler.

This confirms there's no live electrical supply present and that it's safe to work on the appliance (especially as we don’t yet know what’s causing the fault).

The boiler wasn't firing, so after some fault finding we traced the issue to the electrodes (they create the spark that allows the boiler to ignite). We replaced them and the boiler is now up and running as it should be.
