Maldon Salt are moving into their new Barefoot & Gilles - designed headquarters building at Oval Park in Langford. Designed around the flow of people and materials required to supply this global East Anglian brand, the Oval Park facility marks a significant expansion for the company. The building houses head office operations together with a warehouse and packing hall, powered by a 300kW rooftop solar array.

* VACANCY | Part 1 Architectural Assistant *

Opportunity for a Part 1 Architectural Assistant to join a busy Suffolk-based design studio. The available position is on-site at our central Ipswich office.

This role is well suited to architectural assistants with a keen eye for detail, clear written and spoken design communication, excellent team work skills and competency in AutoCAD.

Competency in Revit, Sketchup, Adobe Suite and 3D visualisation software are also desirable. You will have enthusiasm for design and be driven by professional development.

Your role will include:

- Taking ownership of assigned tasks and delivering high-quality design
- Creating accurate drawings, reports, and project materials
- Engaging in design discussions and contributing thoughtful input
- Coordinating your own workload in line with project timelines
- Continuously developing your technical knowledge and professional skills

In total, these two new warehouses provide in excess of 13,000sq.m of VNA storage space with supporting office accommodation, forming part of the ongoing expansion of the Port One Logistics Park.

Piling is underway for the new Wellness Suite for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices. Forming the first part of this much-needed expansion project, it will house greatly improved facilities.
EACH writes: “The suite will have dedicated spaces for essential services like counselling, art therapy and music therapy. These therapies support families and help individuals to express emotions and experiences that might be difficult to put into words. The suite will also include a private entrance better suited for families. Particularly bereaved family members who will no longer have to walk across the care floor - an area that can stir up emotions.”

Barefoot & Gilles are proud to have worked with spa specialists and interior designers Spa Creators UK to help in the creation of the new spa at Salthouse Harbour Hotel on Ipswich Waterfront. The spa features a bespoke ‘wallow’ pool, sauna, aroma essence steam room, ice fountain and fitness suite among other things. Open to hotel visitors or the general public, it is a wonderful addition to the hotel and a real oasis of calm.
