Since 1st October, VAT on household electricity has dropped from 5% to 0% across England, Scotland and Wales.

For EV drivers charging at home, that means another small saving on the cost of keeping your car on the road.

An average EV driver could save around £20–£25 a year on home charging alone, with higher mileage drivers potentially saving around £35–£40. And when combined with a smart overnight tariff, home charging can already cost significantly less per mile than filling up with petrol.

The VAT cut is another step towards making EV ownership more affordable, particularly for those who can charge at home.

With more drivers making the switch, now is a good time to look at how home charging could work for you!

Electric vehicles have come a long way in recent years, with major breakthroughs in battery technology delivering much longer driving ranges than earlier models.

“Range anxiety” is quickly becoming a thing of the past as newer EVs now offer impressive distances on a single charge, with some reaching up to 400 miles.

At the same time, the UK’s charging network continues to expand, making it easier than ever to stay powered up, especially with the convenience of home charging. Imagine starting every day with a full battery, no more trips to the fuel station.

With manufacturers investing heavily and new models launching regularly, EVs are firmly moving into the mainstream.

We can even install your own personal “fuel station” right at your doorstep.
