🍂 September is here, and autumn is just around the corner! 🌳

As summer starts to wind down and we head into autumn, now is a great time to take a look at the trees around your property.

With wetter and windier weather on the way, it’s worth checking for:

🌿 Dead or overhanging branches
🌳 Trees that have become overgrown
🍃 Branches growing too close to buildings, roofs or power lines
🌲 Any signs of damage or disease

A little bit of preventative tree care now can help keep your garden and property safe throughout the autumn and winter months.

If you’ve got a tree you’re concerned about, or simply want some advice, feel free to get in touch with MH Tree Services.

🌳 Sycamore Tree Removal 🌳

This sycamore had become a little too friendly with the neighbouring property, with the canopy extending well beyond where it should.

Being in competition with the surrounding trees, it had grown very one-sided in its search for light, creating an unbalanced structure.

To add to the challenge, the tree was positioned at the top of a very steep bank, requiring careful planning and dismantling throughout the job.

Rather than removing the stump completely, the trunk has been left in place to regenerate and, more importantly, to keep the root system alive and help stabilise the bank.

Another tricky job completed safely and professionally by MH Tree Services 👌🏻

Always happy to support a local football club, especially one that’s close to home (literally) ⚽🌳

Even more so when both of my boys pull on the shirt for the youth teams!

Keep an eye out if you’re passing by while we’re carrying out the tree works.

Wishing everyone at the club a fantastic season ahead. 👌🏻

🌸 A Day Out in Battersea for a Magnolia Reduction 🌳

We were recently called out by one of our customers to carry out a reduction on this stunning Magnolia in Battersea.

A bit of a change of scenery for us - but not a problem at all 👌🏻 and honestly, it turned into a really nice day trip out.

The tree had become a little too large for its space, so we carefully reduced and reshaped the crown to bring it back under control while keeping its natural form and health in mind.

Magnolias don’t always love being worked on, so it was all about taking our time, making precise cuts, and ensuring it still looks beautiful going forward 🌿

It’s always satisfying working on ornamental trees like this - they’re not just about size control, but about maintaining shape, structure and future flowering potential.

Another happy customer and a Magnolia ready to thrive again ✂️

🌳 June Tree Fact! 🌳

Did you know that June is one of the most important months for tree growth?

With long daylight hours and warmer temperatures, trees are working hard to convert sunlight into energy through photosynthesis.

During this time, many trees put on a huge amount of new growth, producing thousands of leaves that help clean the air, provide shade, and support local wildlife.

It’s also a great time to keep an eye on your trees for any dead, damaged, or overgrown branches before they become a problem later in the year.

Nature is busy this month - are your trees looking their best? 🌿 🤔
