Last Sunday, MetStructures took part in Break charity's Grand Duck Race on the River Wensum in Norwich. Break Charity organised the event, and our entry came as part of a wider fundraising effort coordinated by Mace, our client on the nearby University of East Anglia project.

We entered our very own 'MetDuck' into the Duckorated Derby alongside six other Mace supply chain partners, with the collective effort raising £1,600 for Break Charity, a fantastic cause supporting young people on the edge of care, in care, and care leavers. With Mace Foundation match funding, that total could reach £3,200.

A big thank you to Andy Sage FRSA and the team at Mace for coordinating our involvement, and to Break Charity for putting on such a memorable event for a brilliant cause.

Fantastic to attend the MMC Ireland National Conference last week and connect with so many professionals who are helping shape innovation across the construction sector.

It was an excellent opportunity to discuss the future of Modern Methods of Construction and exchange ideas on how offsite solutions can enable more efficient and sustainable project delivery. Events like this really emphasise the value of collaboration across the industry as we continue to evolve and adopt new approaches.

A big thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with the MetStructures team - we look forward to continuing the conversation and exploring opportunities to collaborate.

We would also be delighted to arrange a CPD session with your team to discuss how our solutions could support your upcoming projects.

For all project enquiries and CPD bookings please contact Graeme Stevenson at: [email protected]

🔷 MetEvent 2025 🔷

We recently held our annual team event, bringing our UK employees together in Belfast for a fantastic day of activities and celebrations. The day began with exciting team challenges at Prison Island, followed by axe throwing and quiz boxing, before finishing with a memorable casino-themed evening at the hotel.

It was a brilliant opportunity to connect, collaborate, and celebrate our achievements as a team. A big thank you to everyone who joined and helped make this year’s event such a success!

Here’s to another year of teamwork, growth, and shared success!

We're thrilled to share that we've been appointed as the Secondary Metalwork Contractor for the refurbishment of the iconic Lasdun Wall Building at the University of East Anglia in Norwich. It's an honour to be part of revitalising such an architectural landmark.

The Grade II listed ‘Lasdun Wall,’ an original landscraper design by Sir Denys Lasdun, holds significant historical value for the University of East Anglia (UEA). Originally built in the 1960s, this distinctive teaching and science building consists of four structures designed to appear as one cohesive unit.

Due to the potential risk of structural deterioration, the university is undertaking a comprehensive refurbishment, which includes stripping the building back to the concrete frame.

As part of the project, MetStructures will supply and install the primary structural steel work and secondary metalwork, in addition to performing on-site steel strengthening to the existing columns. We are delighted to collaborate with Mace, alongside the teams at Ramboll and Shepheard Epstein Hunter, to bring this important project to life.
