If you smell burning, a fishy smell or notice a socket or switch has discoloured get it checked. I was working at a house and they said while you are here can you check this socket in a bedroom. Looked at it and was lucky I did as it wasn’t tripping out the fuseboard but sparking anytime the switch was slightly touched. Could’ve been much worse for them if they didn’t get me to have a look. New socket fitted and safer.
